Under 7.5 -105 Cincinnati/Philadelphia-Bailey/Nola
Toronto -118
Under 7 -120 NYY/Boston (Severino/Sale)
AZ -112 (Corbin/Beede)
Tampa Bay/Chi. White Sox-2:10 pm Snell (Fulmer -- Snell excellent vs Bosox, then sucked vs NYY. And today?..I dunno, My guess is he'll be pretty good...Fulmer had an ok 1st start to the season (only 73 pitches and 2 of the guys he left on base came in to score after he pulled), so He'll probably be back to his mediocre self today, I dunno. Team sez his confidence real high and pitching coach Don Cooper and Rick Renteria really lobbied to have him start this season, maybe they see something I don't...TB bats woke up a bit yesterday, I dunno if that means a trend...But I like TB...CWS TT under..
Pittsburgh/Chi. Cubs-2:20 pm Nova/Chatwood -- Nova should suck as usual...Chatwood's command was off his first start with team, he should pull it together a bit better here, what with home opener infront of the fans and all (Cubs are 20-8 in their last 28 during game one of a series) and those Cubs bats are coming alive...Cubs -1.5
Detroit/Cleveland-6:10 pm Boyd (Tomlin -- Boyd off fine first start, he's been working on his fastball location with the pitching coach, but that's not really why he was good, probably mostly due to being at home and pitching against KC, so I'm not sure what to expect, but usually you get sucky starts from him.. Tigers are 1-10 in Boyd?s last 11 starts...Tomlin was bad in his 1st outing, and tweaked his back some, but they claim he's ok. Before that his velocity was down across the board anyway, so probably more suckage today - I'm thinking the over, but these bats are pretty poor of late...a flyer on big dog Detroit I'm thinking too...
Toronto/Baltimore-7:05 pm Sanchez (Cashner -- Sanchez off nice start (was passable vs NYY before that) but he got 7 SO, a lot for him. He's using his changeup a lot more, the curveball less. Been very effective and building his confidence as he gets into the swing of things (he didn't have may starts last season)..current Baltimore lineup bat .229 in 137 at bats vs him.... Cashner himself off a fine start vs Yanks (tho lucky with .167 BABIP), he was able to use his slider to big effect, like in Spring training he hoped he could, tho it wasn't going in his first (poor) start...he did have that low ERA last season, but very blah 4.61 FIP and 1.3 K/BB ratio...and he still giving up plenty of HR and Blue Jays smacking a ton of HRs..I definitely on Toronto here.
Cincinnati/Philadelphia-7:05 pm Bailey (Nola -- Bailey started season well, but a clunker last week, he blames the cold on making it difficult for him to get a grip. 48 to 43 degrees tonight, shouldn't be too bad for him, and he'll be prepared more, and he usually bounces back well... Nola pitched fine again, and they let him get upto 87 pitches before pulling him! So maybe he'll get into the 6th inning this time, tho he was battling his control some in one start...neither team's been batting well, except for Phila in 1 game, so the Under it is...and that big plus money for Cinci looks tasty...
Atlanta/Washington-7:05 pm Foltynewicz (Strasburg -- Folty's had two good outings to showcase his new windup and pitching mix, but last one was vs these Nats bats, not so sure he can adjust that fast, and this is his first road start of the season...Stras off a 4 run game, giving up 2 homers. He did have 12 ER in his first 5 starts last season. He should bounce back here, as he always does, but not sure if that'll be enough as I'm not sure when these ATL bats will slow down and they will see some of the bullpen....so ATL big dog looks worth a shot
N.Y. Mets/Miami-7:10 pm deGrom (Smith -- deGrom off two fine starts (1.03 WHIP, vs STL and Nats), with few HRs which is real good for him, just like to see more SO. Mets bat are off to a good start. Mets are on 6-0 run now, and best overall start in team history, and bullpen one of the best so far, and got more of a break last night than Marlin's pen...Smith had 7.71 ERA last season in 18+2/3 inn, 4.32 ERA this season and, like last season, way too many walks. He did hold down Cubs in first start, control problems in last (many blamed on the frigid cold), ya think he'd be better today, still....Mets -1.5
N.Y. Yankees/Boston-7:10 pm Severino (Sale -- Current NYY lineup bat .156 vs Sale in 90 AB.. Boston .239 in 109 AB vs Severino, and last season just 1 ER in 14 innings Severino pitched at Fenway. Bosox off to best start in team history. 8-1 (!) but did lose batting leader Bogaerts. Yanks 5-5 this season, mostly on thier pitching, so I'm taking that under
L.A. Angels/Texas-8:05 pm Skaggs (Perez -- Skaggs pitching well so far, healthy for once, not going deep tho, with his limited arsenal, ya know he's gonna get pounded hard any day now...Perez off a good 1st start, I thought he'd have more rust, with his delayed start into this season, looks like he's pitching right where he left off last season. TX is 6-3 his last 9 starts vs Angels....still, gotta like Angels here, playing so well (unlike Rangers) and Ohtani will be back.
Houston/Minnesota-8:10 pm Keuchel (Odorizzi -- Keuchel's been solid, 4 ER across 11 innings his 2 starts (1 tough bases loaded jam, last tho, struggle a bit), team losing one..not the great start like last season...Odorizzi they say was bothered by the cold and snow in last start, why he sucked. he was fine in his first, exhibiting his new very effective mix of pitches, I expect a good bounce back here, as he should be better prepared for the cold...so that MN plus money is tempting, to avoid the sweep. But Houston been playing so well and typically dominate and sweep MN here anyway, I can't pull the trigger on MN.
Milwaukee/St. Louis-8:15 pm Suter (Martinez -- Suter 2 blah starts, typical...Martinez one rotten and one great, typical...if Brewers bats get going, could win this game as happens many blah Suter starts, so that big plus money is inticing. Suter has been unlucky with his .364 BABIP this season...but Martinez so dominant in his last start, kinda scary taking Brewers, esp considering he sports a 1.13 WHIP in 91 innings vs Brewers (tho team is 2-3 his last 5 vs Milk) - still, unpredictable bats and unpredictable bullpens on both sides - gotta take this nice dog price
San Diego/Colorado-8:40 pm Lucchesi (Anderson -- Lucchesi, who knows, a blah and a good start, very good in minors but never pitched above AA until his last 2 starts, and now his first road MLB game at Coors. Tho considering the quality his pitches, I don't see a big upside here, but he does keep walks and HR down, more strikes, a good setup for Coors. Anderson bounce back real nice from rotten (7 ER outing), but it was these Padres, but he is back in Coors and ya never know when it might all blow up here, tho he is actually better at Coors than road....not like all this matters, you have unpredictable bullpens come in at unpredictable Coors and that means you should just always take the plus money I suppose.
Arizona/San Francisco-10:15 pm Corbin (Beede -- Corbin with his new stuff and changes to his approach, for sure gonna take him over rookie with 9.00 ERA this spring...
Toronto -118
Under 7 -120 NYY/Boston (Severino/Sale)
AZ -112 (Corbin/Beede)
