in a nutshell, this is temple's "super bowl". they haven't been to a bowl game since 1979. this is their third bowl ever. i know we are talking a different class of teams here, but with all the intangibles, it's hard to handicap by the numbers only.

we have a 9-3 MAC team going against a 6-6 PAC 10 team. ucla was 3-6 in their conference after opening the season 3-0. they won 3 of their last 4,but prior to the USC loss, their 3 wins were against wash, wash st, and az st. - the pac 10 bottom feeders this year.

i can't see any reason ucla can even be excited about this game. traveling east between christmas and new years to play in DC in old RFK stadium. stadium holds almost 70K, they'll be lucky to have 30K in total attendance. temps around freezing, feels like low 20's and winds gusting to 30 MPH. on the other hand, it's a two hour bus ride from philly.

i'm getting points with the better running team that wants to be there and has more reasons to win.

temple + 4.5 3*
temple ML +165 1*

2009 posted plays (all NFL) 6-1-1 +1410
3* 4-0-1 +1410
1* 1-1 -10
1*ML 1-0 +220

So Cal
I totally agree.....

Bruins are fortunate that Army lost to Navy and they were able to sneak in to the Bowl game....

Temple has my respect....
I think the Owls win today
