Here is the deal with me this year, I have a system that I have used since the middle of 2001. It has produced about 60% winners (no plays over -150 in this system) over that time span. In the past I would stick to the system no matter what, this year I am not sure WTF I have been thinking. I have been playing system plays along with trying to pick spots to play on or against teams outside of the system. Well that is where I have gone wrong so far. Perfect example, the fawking Redwings tonight NOT a system play, it was a "gut" or "homer" play. Ottawa on the other hand was a system play and if I had to do it again I would have.
Why am I bringing this up you ask? Well the system is 31-21 +8 units so far this year (coming into tonight). So if I would have played only the sytem plays at 2 units a shot I would be up $1,600 ytd. Instead it looks like I am going to be down a buck and change after Monday night.
One thing Ive learned in sports capping when you lack discipline you get burned and LOSE that is why so many people lose doing this night in night out they lack discipline and chase their losses.
No more gut/homer plays for me, going to stick with the system if it goes down I go down. If you see me playing the Redwings from here on out it is a system play not a homer pick.
Enough rambling but I wanted to clear the air and I truly believe if I stay disciplined I will win some money.
