Tunica

its all spread out in 3 clusters...nothing like Vegas..u may be disappointed.................not much better than any local casino in my opinion.... I stop there for 2 -3 nights on the way to the Gulf or Biloxi and that's it. Wd never make it a major destination.
best Buffet i found was at Binions which may be now is Harrahs...quality dropped sustantialy in Hammond when it changed from Binions to Harrahs. There are shuttles from one casino to the next if u don't have a car...a pain in the butt if u asked me .

Handi, of three, you want to stay at the Grand. It is nice and has a pretty good card room and good restaurants. At least in MS, you get FREE cocktails at the tables. There are nine casinos in the area, so he is right, they are spread out. You wouldn't need to leave the Grand. They have a $100+25 NL every Saturday at 12 BUT the blinds go up every 10 minutes so it is a shootout.

Have not been to any there other than Sam's Town so this is definately a one sided opinion.

We have golf 4some that go there on golf trip every April and stay at S.T. They always comp our rooms (3 days). This past year they said our comp expired because it had been over year (by 14 days I believe) since we had been there last. I emailed customer service on their website and they extended comp to cover our trip--never paid for meal enire time there and not a high roller--played a lot of video poker and $5 black jack.
Also got good deal on golf course next to them--believe it was $20 green fee and cart after 11 oclock.

Little Rock
I live across the river in Little Rock, run over there quite a bit (not so much now that Platinum Plus in Memphis has been closed down)...have stayed at all the hotels there....

In order of preference....I would suggest
#1 Binion's (good atmosphere for eye candy, rooms are good, steakhouse is good)
#2 Grand (only if it was comped, if not swap #2 & 3 - I usually take advantage of the comped room and gamble at Binion's - a bit of an older crowd here)
#3 Gold Strike --- walking distance from Binion's and Sheraton (decent rooms and good steakhouse)
#4 Sam's Town

Not much to do in Tunica except gamble and drink --- with it being August I would suggest the pool but, August in Mississippi is self explanatory unless of course you are a fan of jungle heat and battling mosquitoes at the pool.......
