Pitching
here rae just some of the pitching matchups for today's early games and it looks as though many quality pitchers are going to get the nod today:
The Reds play the first of three games in two days against the Pirates today. Jose Acevedo will start for the Reds. Acevedo pitched two innings of one-hit, shutout ball in his first outing?..
Pittsburgh: Rolando Arrojo makes his first start of the spring today against the Cincinnati Reds.

Houston:RHP Roy Oswalt will make his second start of the exhibition season today at Osceola County Stadium. He is expected to go three innings or 50 pitches. Jeriome Robertson, Kirk Saarloos, Octavio Dotel and Billy Wagner are scheduled to follow Oswalt. Steve Parris is scheduled to start for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
Philly: Tonight, Myers faces the Yankees at Legends Field for the second time in as many springs.
Baltimore third baseman Tony Batista was scratched because of a sore knee.
He will not play Thursday against the Los Angeles Dodgers, but Manager Mike Hargrove said the injury is not serious. . . .
Orioles left fielder Marty Cordova was pulled shortly after being hit on the calf by a pitch from Fossum in the second inning.
The Jays will play their sixth Spring Training game at 1 p.m. on Thursday against the Cleveland Indians in Winter Haven. Cory Lidle will be matched up against Cleveland's C.C. Sabathia
The Dodgers host Baltimore at Vero Beach on Thursday, with Kazuhisa Ishii, Kevin Brown and Guillermo Mota facing Jason Johnson.
Besides the obvious, that we are junkies for playing spring training games :yup I noticed a couple of things you have to keep an eye out for:
1) teams that travel often do not bring many of the veterans on the trip Red Sox and the Reds both made trips and left most of the big guns at home and both lost.
2) line ups although this information is not the easiest to find and may not even be accurate if you do, you may want to keep an eye on managers that like to start the game with full lineups as it could make all the difference in the world. I have noticed the mets and the pirates like to do this.
3) Second time around I have noticed that pitchers who struggle in thier first spring training appearence tend to do so in the second as they just want to work on mechanics and are not concerned with wins and losses. In yesterday's games I mentioned that in his first outing Retiesma gave up a homer and was shaky and sure enough in his second outing he did the same giving up a long ball and getting ounded early.
