TWINS/ANGELS UNDER 9 +105 ? The Angels hot bats were cooled off by Rick Reed last night, as he pitched a Complete Game 3-hitter, and I expect young Kinney to keep Anaheim reasonably quiet again tonight. Kinney is due for some good luck, as he has pitched much better than his 1-4 record would indicate. He has allowed 2 earned runs or less in 4 of his 6 starts this season, and he held the potent Yankees lineup to 2 earned runs in 5.1 innings in his last start. The fact that the Twins bullpen has now had 2 full days off is an added benefit for a unit that has an excellent pen ERA of 3.27 with a combined pen WHIP of 1.26. Washburn has a history of pitching well over the first half of the season, and this year is no exception. He is 4-2 with a solid 3.48 ERA and a very good WHIP of 1.25. He also has an outstanding 1.00 WHIP in his last 5 starts vs. Minnesota, covering 32 innings.
