fdc, what are the best places to fish in the Ft Worth area? Closest place I've fished is Lake Fork. Spend most of my fishing time on Toledo Bend.
This time of year depending on how far you want to go from the Fort Worth area and if you are looking for numbers or pigs.
Right now I would suggest Ray Roberts or Hubbard Creek. Ray Bob was a 14-24 slot forever an dthey removed it last year and there are some great fish in that lake. Carolina rig main lake points out in the front of Lick, Buck, Wolf and Indian Creek.
Hubbard Creek is a bit of a trip but a great lake.
Now as far as Toledo Bend tactics go, I am guessing you threw a lot of plastics there, and if you want to stay in the near Fort Worth area, then I would go to Lake Worth or Lake Grapevine. Grapevine is a chatterbait crankbait lake. Fish the marinas. Great lake. Eagle Mountain is fishing really well also but the launch fees are ridiculous. There is still one ramp, north of Peden road that dumps into Indian Creek that is still cheap. I have forgotten the name but that is a good lake for decent practice fish. Lots of boat docks, fish stay shallow and has clear and muddy water. Lately I have been practicing skipping half ounce spinner baits under floating docks on a bait casting reel with 20 pound test flourocarbon and that is the place to do it.
An absolutely incredibly deadly tactic anywhere but it is very very difficult to do. Takes a lot of practice but you can get it down.
Also try up in the river in Lake Worth, especially in the heat.
When you planning on going? Are you in a boat I am guessing?
Let me know bro, maybe I can meet you out there. Cheers
Hope that helps
