On the course!
I really like the (gulp) Brewers tonight. I see a very close game here, with two nice pitchers. Sheets has had some tough luck this year, but had a real nice go last time out. I don't see many guys reaching base today for either team, and at this price, I will recommend the Brewers in what should be a very tight, and low scoring game.

Montreal seems like another bargain at +230. Johnson is a half a step off of his game, allowing a little more than he usually does in the run department. I like Yoshii and the Expos to get some good ball in tonight. I think RJ gives up enough runs tonight, and Yoshii shuts down the Backs.

Just went and read Nick's thread, gsp.

That kind of statistical information never did much for me, though.

Thanks for the input, at any rate. I appreciate it.

yyz 7/31/02"That kind of statistical information never did much for me."Considering the 9-1 and 5-1 results of these laughable "plays" THAT was a real zen saying,a signature line that'll be an instant classic .One of your rants about the Beanman went thusly:"It is completely obvious that his picks are nothing more than some one looking at a paper or a screen and saying,"I like so-and-so at this price."etc.I guess if the guy had a winning record, people might not care how the picks came, but "he" is an absolute joke and for Jack to even make such an offer to the guy, lessens the value of this place to the likes of a circus side show, what the hell kind of "insight" could his page possibly contain?" Back at you bud.Ignoring statistical information is why you don't bet for real anymore. This is the real reason you kept picking at that guy like the scab you couldn't resist playing with as a kid.BeantownJim reminds you of yourself.Lv7slip or whatever he calls himself is a teenage extortionist,so he's really strongly vested in kicking someone around that he'd like to think is a bigger loser than he is (VERY UNLIKELY).Neemers posts reveal his weakness of character if you read only one or two of them(having to read all 5000 would be what you'd get if you were in purgatory!)The analysis of statistical information of all types blended with the ability to read the quality of the emotional spot for both teams is a great big part of what handicaping is all about!BeantownJim's writing was among the most interesting and funny on this sight bad picks or not, faults not withstanding.I still say BeantownJim was a character written by Nick Douglas,Jack,or Nolan Dalla just to stimulate things around here, but if he was real, I've met guys just like him a thousand times, and that my simple friend is one of the many things that makes him so funny to me. He's a real flamer.

Gonna be a long, cold Alaskan winter without a bankroll for Football. I agree with yyz about statistical info. Just cause you've lost about $4,000 in your bestbettor account this month doesn't mean that you'll lose that much in August.
