This shit drives me insane! I don't know what it is. Analytics? The only logic I can see in that decision is if you get it and they score again then you're down 2 possessions. But that means you're planning on converting 3/3 conversions. And if you cut it to 10 then you don't need any conversions. It's pure insanity.
I had Oregon. Total collapse but they still had the lead and 4th and 1 w plenty of time left....on their own 29. And they go for it. What the fuck.
I had (and love) UNC. End of 1st half. They've been dominated but only down 4 points. Deep in their own territory. They can safely see if they can move the ball, I have no problem w that. But it's 3rd down and they call timeout instead of running clock. Sack, punt, leads to NCSU field goal. The game went into overtime. Those 3 points were pretty important.
So many more examples....oh, one more. Last night. LSU. All I needed was for them to win (4-team ML parlay) but that's another story. Down 21. They score.....and go for 2. WTF??? Can these idiots not add? 7 x 3 = 21?? I was hoping they scored 2 more touchdowns and lost b/c of it. He did the same thing at Notre Dame against Clemson and they lost by 2 a few years back. It's like, oh shit we're down by a lot, try to get more points.
It's also like most of them play the way most people play video games. Just go for it every 4th down, never play field position, don't worry about the clock, just play aggressive all the time. It's awful. Then again, maybe it's all rigged and gematria came into play and the powers that be told them to go for 2 so the numbers would come out right lol....who knows.
