Look for the Bruins to come out of the gate with a win. UCLA has always started the season playing their best football -- they just have trouble finishing that way.
This team should be able to put up some serious points this season. Drew Olson starts at QB without having to look over his shoulder about losing his job. Reports are that he has benefited from the addition of new offensive coordinator Tom Cable and quarterback coach Jim Svoboda. Maurice Drew and Manuel White pose a potent running attack and should open up things for the passing game. It doesn't look like Tab Perry will be eligible for this game but between Craig Bragg and Mercedes Lewis, they should be ok.
Things are pretty thin defensively since the Bruins lost Brandon Chillar, Matt Ware, Rodney Leslie, and Dave Ball.
However, when you consider that Ok St. lost QB Josh Fields, RB Tatum Bell, and WR Rashaun Woods -- that's a much bigger hit. Donovan Woods will start at QB for the Cowboys because star recruit Bobby Reid is injured and is redshirting this season.
UCLA wants to show that last season was an abberation and coach Dorrell has assembled a better support staff, which should help team chemistry.
