great day to be a bruin fan, but reality has set in. the team isn't as good as I thought they were, but they definitely have as much heart as anyone.

Their D is just too banged up. But they certainly give you your money's worth every time out. They had no business winning this game but miraculously pulled it out. An amazing comeback!

Something is wrong with their effort. If they can turn it on like that in the 4th quarter, they should be able to play like that the first half too. I agree, it will be a ton harder to come off the canvas when they are playing a team that hasn't been beaten by UC Davis.

you are right about being good to be a ucla fan.

but similar to michigan/ohio st., although not on the national scale, their season is judged on whether or not they beat the evil empire. And for UCLA football its always been that way.

if tressel goes 0-9 each year, but manages to beat michigan, his season is a success. not really, but you get what i'm getting at.

so yeah, it is nice to be undefeated and a top 5 football team for the first time in forever, but to beat USC would be even sweeter.

UCLA prob. will play solid all 4 quarters against USC. Most teams do.

However, I still have a hunch that UCLA implodes against USC if they are undefeated coming into the game. Won't be able to handle the pressure and will come out tight. I think UCLA will make ton of turnovers. Oh yeah, USC is getting better and better each and every week. Also creating more and more depth. Just like they always do in the 2nd half of the season last 3 years! :)

With all that said, USC better have a 24pt lead in the 4th quarter. UCLA has a ton of heart! My early prediction is USC wins 51-27!

You have a hunch? Who would have thought that?

USC has played in big games and knows how to prepare. UCLA has NEVER been in a big game with so much riding on it. UCLA gets 2 or maybe 3 weeks to prepare for USC. That is a lot of time to think about what is riding on the game. Also it is cross town rivalry. I give it a high probability UCLA comes out nervous and tight. USC will be loose because they don't care who their opponent is. It is always about USC and what USC does. At least that is what Carroll has branded into every player at USC.

When UCLA prepares and watches film for USC, they will see USC dominating Washington and WSU. Next week hopefully Stanford. UCLA will know they struggled to beat all 3 teams. USC didn't.

USC gets 2 weeks to prepare for UCLA! :) USC didn't last year and had to play back to back rivalry games. Tough!

As a USC fan, I hope UCLA comes undefeated into the USC/UCLA game. I think UCLA would be much tougher opponent if they had 1 or more losses.

UCLA knows they were just as good on the field with USC last year and get ****ed on a bad call that was the difference in the game. I doubt that some tape of a game against Washington will be all that meaningful.

Strange how you gave the "two weeks to prepare" bullshit as a benefit for Notre Dame and others but you now spin it as a curse for UCLA. Spin, your middle name.

How come you didn't bring up the bad call USC was fawked on? The one which lead to the UCLA kickoff return!!!! UCLA got away with blatant hold. But lets not bring that up. THat call lead to UCLA TD. THe Reggie Bush fumble would have lead to UCLA field position around the 50. No way the UCLA LB runs for TD beating out guys who run 4.3 and 4.4. THere were 3 USC players that would have tackled him. So it looks like USC got the worst end of it!

Playing @ND is an extremely hostile environment against your rival is different than playing your crosstown rival @home. USC gets UCLA @USC. Weis is a better coach than Dorrel. Weis has won Superbowls. What has Dorrell done? I think Quinn is a better QB than Olson. I think ND offense is better than UCLA offense. (OL being the big difference) Maybe slight edge to ND defense.

I don't think this UCLA team will handle the pressure well if they are undefeated playing @USC for all the marbles. USC will be a completely different team at the end of the year. USC in Sept,/Oct. is not the same USC in Nov./Dec.
Been this way the last 3 years and from what I am seeing it will be 4 straight years! Just take 1 player as an example. ND burned USC DB Walker many times. He has been replaced by saftey Pinkard who now appears to be a lockdown corner. Amazing! 3 years ago USC lost to WSU and Kansas St. USC replaced that DB who was killing the team (Buchannan) and replaced him with former WR (Allmond). USC went on to win every game and the defense played well the rest of the year. Same thing is happening again!
