They are loaded and ready to defend!!!
Ryan Boatright is perhaps the most impressive newcomer so far...at 5'11" he took heralded superfrosh center Andre Drummond in the slam contest and goes HARD and with attitude. From Chicago and will let you know Boatright averaged 30+ and was over 40... 7 times last year....This is different but he fears noone and will score. He and Shabazz get on famously and JC has been experimenting with Jeremy Lamb at point as well. Look for Jeremy Lamb to really break out this year as a #2. Then there is Neils Giffey who can play the 2 or the #3. He won the 3 point shootout at the Madness and should be much more comfortable as a soph.
At the #3 you have another heralded newcomer DeAndre Daniels who will compete to start. DeAndre can run all night handle the ball and shoot inside or out. He won the 3.5 mile race in 19.5 min.
At the #3 or #4 will be 6' 8" 205 Roscoe Smith who will benefit greatly from his freshman campaign as a starter and bulked up Tyler Olander at 6'9" 235.
In the middle will be slimmed down Enosch Wolf at 7'1" 250 if he can get time from Junior 6'9" 240
Alex Oriaki who may see time as a #4 and superstud 6"11 260 Andre Drummond...who does it all in the middle.
Look for a much improved defense and way more scoring punch!
No question I'm a homer here but I haven't seen a CT team this deep or a happier Jim Calhoun in a long time. All they need is chemistry to compete with anyone.:0008
