played over 77.5 and over 160.5

trusting the 'middle of the season non-conference' set-up to produce another over for me. this type of over hits at an excellent rate.

last time a team held carolina relatively in check (pointwise) was indiana. the heels then dropped 91 on kentucky the next game.

uconn is a weird team. theyll play some grinders against teams like st.johns and georgetown..... but theyre still willing to run up and down the floor with the elite teams in the country.

i think carolina is going to do whatever it takes to get their tempo established, even if it means giving up some easy baskets just to generate a quicker pace.

a lot of the play is based on the mid-season non-conf angle. the defensive intensity is just rarely there by even the best of teams, since the game has no conference implications.

nickel:

im making a general statement about calhoun's team in general over the last couple of years. they play big east style when necessary, but they dont try to play big east style basketball in the tournament (or against carolina for that matter LY)
