As a Georgia fan this series has hurt like hell the past 2 decades. This year sees us enter the game as a favorite but based on the not too distant past that has meant nothing. Richt and Georgia are 2-8 Vs Fla the last 10. I give the background to make it obvious that I know what has happened, but IMO this team is different. A lot of the contributors to this Georgia team have never even played against Florida. Be it juco guys, true freshman or guys finally getting to start, many of these guys are new to this game and are not scarred from years past. What is separating this year the most for me is the vast improvement on defense. In years past UGA has had to try and keep up with FLA as their defense was less than stellar, but this year has allowed for the defense to make stops and the offense not have to take as many chances. Fla is young and they will be back to their old selves soon, but this is not the Fla team from years past. In a transition year, facing (arguably) the 3rd best defense in the SEC, and a coach that is fighting to save what remains of his supporters, I look for this game to go UGA's way. I would obviously love to see a blowout, but thats not going to happen. Georgia wins this one though and it stays well under the number 24ish-13ish. I feel even more confident with this situation than I did about Boise taking UGA to the woodshed. Good Luck either way boys:toast:
