Texas St -6 over UlMonroe ****

Bobcats have lost 2 close games ..SMU 31-24 and a heartbreaker 2 OT loss to UTSA when their kicker Orano missed the extra pt to win the game and a missed FG in the overtime. Only a red shirt freshmen he pretended to have the C-19 so everyone on campus stayed away from him. this week[ I made that up}

Was at both games and Tex offense really gave SMU troubles .. McBride the transfer from Memphis is really a good qb with a lot of upside.. He is a poor mans Johnny Manziel .. Doesn't have the arm strength but his pocket awareness and foot work are very simaliar . He can step up in the pocket feel the pressure and run with the ball. but before game time McBride was benched for either c-19 or he broke protocol. Talking to students at the game Saturday they said he broke protocol.. But Spavital in his press conference this week and on the radio wouldn't say why he didn't play.. But McBride is back and will play on Saturday since he practice on tuesday with the team. Vitt started saturday and although threw for +350 yds still threw 2 interceptions that killed his team. He did look better then last year though. Tx was down 17 at the half and 13 in the 4th qrt and still came back and almost won. They couldn't stop mcCormick the rb from UTSA.

UL Monroe were beaten by Army 37-7 and right now they still can't figure out defensive assignments. If you watched the Army game the key was " misdirection" Army went one way and all 11 UL defenders went that way. Then Army ran a misdirection and all 11 Warhawks stopped and turned. Only problem was the Army RB was already passed the line backers ..I;m sure Tx St has scouted that and I;m more sure the UL defensive coord has made a few adjustments.. It hard to scout what anyone will do on defense vs an Army running option attack. But Tx Sy=t gas 2 decent rb;s in Stugess and Hill. Ans at Wr they have Haydel the wr who caught 9 passes vs UTSA and made the catch of the season vs SMU the week before. And he ran a 91 yd punt return vs UTSA to send it into overtime.. talk about a weapon..

UL defense was ranked last in the Sun Belt last yr.. they haven't improved much.. They start a qb who made is debut vs Army They do have a stud at Rb in Johnson even though Army held him to 38 yds rushing. TX couldn't stop UTSA back McCormick but this kid is better then anyone AM or Texas has.. wow follow his blockers,is patient strong and quick. super star in the making..

But McBride is back and that will be to much for the Warhawks defense to deal with. With some decent rb's and Haydel they should dominate on offense. Hopefully Bobcat defense play even with UL and slow down Johnson.. Although Tx St is 0-2 and UL beat them 24-10 UL had a qb Evans with over 10,000 yds in his career. He;s gone . Stop Johnson and Bobcats get a nice rd win by a tiuchdown or more As long as Orona doesn't have to kick a FG.

Back later with a few more games Smoo -North Texas ..

Thanks destructor ..the line is now Tx St -4 not sure why Maybe because Spitval the coach didn't announce a starter at qb But McBride is much better then Vitt despite his numbers last week vs UTSA . This kid is really good Doesn't sit in the pocket and can throw on the run ..And Bobcats 2 rb's are pretty good and wr's solid The OL looked tired in the 4th qrt vs UTSA and with injuries they had to shuffle a few them into different positions . UL has dominated Tx St the past 4 or 5 years. Tex state hasn't been a road favorite in years But think this team has had 2 tough starts and lost both games 7 and 3 .. And if there kicker kicked the extra pt last week they win.
Think if McBride starts the tx offense should be able to score vs the UL defense.. UL has a good rb and TE.. think there defense will concrete on UL strength..its hard to scout UL after playing Army because of their assignments are different But think Bobcats get a rare road win here on Saturday. Think McBride needs a game or two before opponents realize this kid can play

Texas St -4 over UL Mon *****

line has dropped ..not sure why .. think McBride will start. if he doesn't then Vitt will replace and I;ll pass on this game Only bad news out of San Marcus is about OL having problems and some players switching positions . But if McBride starts he has the rb's and wr's to run over UL defense. Tx St defense needs to slow down Warhawks rb and TE..

SMU -14 over North Texas **

SMU -7.5 over North Texas 1st half ******

Best play .. NT defense gave up over 600 yds to Houston Baptist. Smoo vs Tex St did't really attack them thru the air raid with Buechele and company Roberson big time wr.. Rice is a speedster and they have a solid TE Granson. TJ McDaniel will be the best rb NT see's all year. Smoo OL protects their qb and NT has no pass rush what so ever. last yr Mustangs won 49-27 and have 10 offensive starters back. NT lost their top Qb in Fine and now start 2 guys. But NT has a of " wealth"running backs with Torrey who had 1,400 career rushing yds. Adaway and Siggers can gallop back there.. So Nt's strength is now at running back. And after seeing SMU defense have trouble vs Tex St 2 weeks ago this should cause a major concern. Think Sonny Dykes is not happy with there showing 2 weeks ago at Tx St. Think they will attack a weak North Texas defense that can't slow down Beuchele and his wr's . This game is a rivalry game in the eyes of the Mean Green and North Texas always feels its 2nd cousins to them in the Dallas Metroplex. Mean green is alway fired up more in this game.

this game also has over 68.5 all over it I like the 1st half play -7.5 No way NT Db's can hold Roberson and Dykes hardly ever targeted him vs Tx St When they did he caught a 58 yd Td bomb. And Granson the TE seemed wide open and he never saw the ball..Although SMU defense is bad they will out score teams with their offense . NT rushing attack ran the ball 52 times vs Houston Baptist a record . NT has decent wr;s so putting 7-8 guys in the box might not work vs their new ground attack.. but think Mustangs get the lead early and NT will be forced to pass and not use its running game like they want to

Ok st -23.5 over Tulsa ***

Sanders and Chuba.. Canes defense in trouble big time but Ok St defense is loaded also. Once Hubbard gets past the Tulsa linebackers its over.. last yr at tulsa pokes won 40-21.. think Gundy will pour it on since the B-12 has taken a few hits last week.

Troy -2.5 over Mid tenn ***

saw the line drop to -3 will pass on Tex St.. Vitt I don't trust at all despite having a good game last time.. So will pass.. To me mcBride is that good Pass on Tex St no play McBride is not playing according to several sources.. that why the line is now -3

UTSA -15.5 over SFA ****

Like the Roadrunners big time Sincere McCormick is probably one of the 2 or 3 best running back in the state of Texas. Was Conf USA rookie of the year. Harris the qb is a skinny lefty elusive qb who can run option Only any pass over 12 yds wobbles He played great last week vs Tx St UTSA can score and SFA doesn't have the defense to stop Sincere

So pass on tex St
