Burning question: Can UNCW knock down some shots? East Carolina has relied almost exclusively on zone defense this season. That strategy stands to put the spotlight on UNCW?s outside shooting. The Seahawks have been erratic from 3-point range but had their best effort so far Saturday at Georgetown thanks to a late-game flurry. They?ll have to find the right balance between settling for jumpers and attacking here.

Players to watch:

ECU: Sophomore guard B.J. Tyson: ECU?s leading scorer has hit for at least 20 points in three of the past five games.

Freshman guard/forward Kentrell Barkley: Named AAC Rookie of the Week after averaging 16.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists in two games last week.

Junior forward Michel Nzege: Returned from an ankle injury to play 17 minutes in Sunday?s win over NC A&T.

UNCW: Sophomore forward Marcus Bryan: Transfer from Charlotte now leads Seahawks at 5.8 rebounds per game.

Senior guard Dylan Sherwood: Only shooting 28.6 percent from 3-point range so far but should get his chances vs. ECU?s zone.

Senior guard Craig Ponder: Scored a season-low three points on 0-for-6 shooting Saturday at Georgetown.

UNCW showed spirit in coming back at Georgetown but fell short. Now the Seahawks try to keep it from turning into a streak. They have a good shot at a third straight win over the improved Pirates. They?ll need a more complete effort than they produced on Saturday, though.
