For some reason I am leaning strong to the Unders today (against some potent offense, too!). There is a consistency in my lean though: I don't think the respective dog will score (maybe at all in some cases and certainly not with ease) against the respective fav, thus the fav will have to bring the total above virtually by itself. Plus, if you subscribe to the conspiracy theory, as I do, these supposed blowouts may prove to be closer games than expected to keep it exciting. Considering the lesser offenses in each of these games will have problems scoring a lot of points, to keep it close each will need to be a low scoring game.

Just my spin.

Here are my plays:

Chi/Minn Under 44.5:

I see Chicago doing its best to keep the potent Minn offense off the field, thus will come with a health dose of Thomas Jones on the ground. Control the clock ... Added bonus: These two teams have only combined for 40+ once since 2001.

Home team listed second:
12/14/03 Min 10 Chi 13
9/14/03 Chi 13 Min 24
10/27/02 Chi 7 Min 25
9/8/04 Min 23 Chi 27
11/25/01 Chi 13 Min 6
9/23/01 Min 10 Chi 17

Phil/Det Under 44:

Can Det score against Phil? No doubt Phil will put up points, but I'll take my chances with the Philly D holding Det down and hope that Det D at least slows Philly down on the road.

Atl/Ari Under 43:

Again, can ARI score? Dunn's fine and ATL should be all over the ARI D. Run Warrick Run. Keep that clock moving.

Good luck to all.

Lots of unders in the early games. Went 2-1 with the above, so not going to complain.

Looking at another for tonight:

Pitt/Mia Under 16.5 (1st half).

Stingy Mia D against a rookie starter coupled with an anemic Mia O. Looking for a slow start to a conservative game. Plus, chance of rain ... which I think tends to push turnovers up (and scores correspondingly), but still looking for a low scoring half.

Good luck.
