This was from the cincy website, sounds like he's playing, but from reading the article I wonder how effective he's going to be.
University of Cincinnati quarterback Gino Guidugli threw about 20 passes on the side during the Bearcats' practice Tuesday afternoon and said his broken right hand felt better than he thought it would when he tested it for the first time.
He and UC football coach Mark Dantonio both say Guidugli is on track to play in the PlainsCapital Forth Worth Bowl against Marshall Dec. 23.
"The doctors have a plan," Dantonio said. "He'll just continue to do more and more and more. He's right where we thought he would be."
Guidugli, UC's career passing leader, broke his hand during a fall at his house Nov. 20 and was unable to play in the Bearcats' 70-7 regular-season finale loss to Louisville on Nov. 27.
His hand was placed in a hard cast Nov. 28. He will continue to wear a removable soft cast while he sleeps.
"The swelling is down," Guidugli said before practice. "I've got good finger flexibility. I just have to see how my wrist loosens up and how I'm going to throw the ball. My wrist is really stiff from having the cast on.
"But the pain has really gone down."
Guidugli did not take part in any of the passing drills that were conducted during the Bearcats' practice. He said he hoped to be able to throw by Friday and to take snaps by Sunday.
He said he would not wear the soft cast for the bowl game.
