I think he is in trouble. When he was home for a few days with his family during the holidays , they discussed his health problems and the family's concerns. He looked them in the face and told them they are the most important to him. He told them he would quit coaching and take better care of himself He calls the AD and tells him he is stepping down.
He gets back to the office after a the holidays and he is all business and can't get away from his players , the office , the challenge.. So now he calls the AD again and says hey maybe I can take some time off and coach.
