Lienhart is the #1 QB right now, and is taking 60-70% of the snaps. He still can lose his position but looks like he will be the starter. Suprisingly, he has stepped it up in practice and has been looking really good. Last scrimmage we had he completed his first 8 passes. (but it was 1st O vs 2nd D). Lienhart is classic drop back passer, but does not hve much mobility, although has some. He is not CARSON PALMER but he is good and should/hopefully get the job done. Lienhart was a top 10 QB in the nation out of high school, so he has the talent, just has no experience.
On the other hand, Hance was my pre-season pick to win the starting QB job but unfortunately for him he had shoulder surgery and did not really recover fully by spring practice and he suffered on longer throws. Then over the summer he got menegitas and he did not practice in voluntary workouts in summer. Right now he is practicing in fall, and we seem to be using him in shotgun. He is accurate in short passes but struggles with deep ball (because of shoulder). He also is great at making things happen outside the pocket. I wish he did not hve the arm problems and was starting against AU mainly because of his experience at Purdue and his mobility.
