Is there some reason fball coaches cant put 2 men back anymore? one short, one long--Tom Landry did it ... the short man, lance rentzel would always fair catch, the long man, bob hayes would run if he caught it ... when you have an explosive offense or are playing vs a suspect defense why would you punt or kick a fg from midfield to the 25....go for it!
sc does and converts a high % of those chances...which is why they are very tough to stop.

USC not scoring as quick, but they are still getting it done. Cal doing good job stopping the run but once SC starts connecting on some deep balls that might change. SC penalties have handed Cal their only points.
whats happening, hopefully, is that Cal is trying to shorten game with runs b/c ayoob is a joke, if usc can get up 21-3 then Teddy will have to change course--this is a huge drive b4 half IMO, would alter strategy ... as it look now ayoob is miserable like LW in eugene ... if he doesnt pick it up (or some sub comes in, i hope not) USC will be in great shape

if someone woulda told me at half usc had 3.3 a rush and 62 yds rushing, i woulda had a bad feeling .. the cover etc is far from over ... but if usc can get any sort of running game going they will cover this
-7 & 30 2nd half ... I like the U, dont see cal scoring much and usc will cost in 4th if they score and go up 28-3, they dont want inj. going into fresno & ucla ... shorten game etc ... I am not betting anymore on game, just need SC by 11 ...
