Time to throw it down

I been holding back and waiting.

I like USC chances here and I will tell you why.

This is USC chance to be shown respect on the same field as Oregon.

And I wouldnt think so highly of defense on USC but the USC boys have held everyone under 100 yds total rushing .

So if that picks up and USC can play like they did against Stanford.

I just might add a moneyline play.

After a decisive victory over a fellow top-10 team, Oregon might have more than the inaugural Pac-12 championship on its mind.

Saddled with a postseason ban, all USC can hope for is to continue to play well in its final two games.:scared

The fourth-ranked Ducks can clinch the Pac-12 North Division title with a 10th straight victory Saturday while trying to hand the No. 18 Trojans their sixth consecutive loss in the state of Oregon.

Oregon (9-1, 7-0) moved up two spots in the latest AP poll and into sole possession of first place in the North with a 53-30 rout at then-No. 3 Stanford last Saturday. That victory also put the Ducks back in the national championship picture, with No. 1 LSU and No. 2 Oklahoma State the only unbeaten teams in the BCS top 10.

"I think we're right back in it," said Oregon quarterback Darron Thomas, who threw for 155 yards and three touchdowns while completing only 11 passes against Stanford. "Why not?":scared

The Ducks are certainly worthy of some revisited national title consideration after averaging 48.9 points during a nine-game winning streak since falling 40-27 to LSU in their season opener.

"It means nothing until the first week of December," said Oregon coach Chip Kelly, whose team appears on pace to host the first Pac-12 title game Dec. 2. "We've lost one. We lose two we're not even in the discussion."

Kelly will try to make sure his team is focused as it tries for a 22nd straight home victory and a third consecutive win against USC.

The Trojans (8-2, 5-2) lead the Pac-12 South Division but are ineligible to compete in the conference title game because of their two-year postseason ban for improper benefits to Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush. With nothing to play for after next week's finale against crosstown rival UCLA, they're not putting too much pressure on themselves this weekend.:00hour :SIB :00hour

"It's a very challenging week. They might be the hottest team in the country," USC coach Lane Kiffin said. "(But) the pressure is off, we're going to go up there and have some fun."

Though Oregon has outscored the Trojans 100-52 while winning the last two meetings, USC ranks eighth in the nation this season with 100.4 rushing yards allowed per game. The Trojans gave up just 46 yards on the ground in a 40-17 win over Washington last Saturday.:0074

The nation's leader averaging 150.9 rushing yards per game, James had 146 yards and three TDs on 20 carries against Stanford.

"I think every game he's played in, he's played well," Kelly said of James, who missed two games because of a dislocated elbow. "We're going to ride that kid as long as we can."

The Trojans hope to ride the arm of quarterback Matt Barkley to the program's first victory in the state of Oregon since beating the Ducks 45-13 at Autzen Stadium on Sept. 24, 2005. USC has dropped its last two in Eugene and three in a row at Oregon State.

Barkley, who threw a TD pass and rushed for a score against Washington, has completed 66.1 percent of his passes for 1,663 yards with 19 touchdowns and three interceptions during the Trojans' 5-1 stretch since Oct. 1.

He's thrown for 451 yards with three TDs and three interceptions while losing both career games versus Oregon.

However, his favorite target might not be available Saturday. Robert Woods, fourth in the FBS with 92 receptions and 11 TD catches, could miss the game with ankle and shoulder problems.

USC junior Curtis McNeal ran for a career-high 148 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries last weekend, while freshman wide receiver Marqise Lee found the end zone twice.

Lee has at least one TD reception in seven of his last eight games after catching one late in the second quarter against Washington. He also returned the second-half kickoff for a touchdown.

..............................................................

oh shit muffins

USC aint beat them on this field in forever.

It aint never going to happen,

USC is doomed.

Dont think so

Not in this game. Not right here on Saturday night.

USC leads the series 37-18-2 but Oregon won its second in a row 53-32 last season in the Coliseum. If the Ducks win, they clinch the Pac-12 North Division title. Oregon has won 21 consecutive home games and 19 consecutive conference games. The Trojans had a season-high seven sacks in their win over Washington. Oregon has allowed just seven sacks this year. The Trojans have held an opponent to less than 100 yards rushing five times this year and they rank second in the Pac-12 in run defense. Oregon ranks fifth in the nation in rushing (291.8 ypg).

seriously , this is why I gamble .

This is why I win.

GO USC

1. Get on the right side

2. Reduce your risk

3. Don't be a homer

4. Reduce the plays you make.

5. Reduce or do not play the college games
Mon-Fri

6. When you lose, don't chase late plays.

7. Do not handcuff yourself with one type of wager.

8. No woman, No children

9. Cash the ticket.

good luck on your play ... I took USC in a local contest called Silly Underdog Plays where you have to pick 3 underdogs each week to win outright ... and your points are added up by the amount of the points you pick as outright winners...I took USC as one of my picks this week ... and I am in 50th place out 5509 peeps :0074

well we are on the same side and that is where I need to be....

I dont like the Silly part though

I would change that to serious

USC aint going to get embarressed in this game.

They have a chance to show the nation they are as good as Stanford and Oregon Ducks.

Kiffen is a good coach

We know his history but he has taken this team
to 8-2

They have too much of a proud tradition to go down luck chumps in this game.

If they cant win they are at least going to make the spread not 14

if we cant go to a bowl game this year then we will bring out bowl game to our away games.

fawk that

give me USC and +16

You do know Woods isn't 100%... I still like USC, but if he's really hurt, could be a monster factor.

Woods is fourth in the FBS with 92 receptions and 11 touchdown catches during one of the best seasons by a receiver in USC history. The Biletnikoff Award semifinalist also is seventh in the nation with 1,126 yards receiving despite making just two catches for 5 yards ? both season lows ? against Washington last weekend.

?He?s not 100 percent,? quarterback Matt Barkley said. ?I wouldn?t say it affects our offense as a whole ... but it?s always better to have him in there, obviously.?

Although the bowl-banned Trojans have only two games left, Woods has a good chance to surpass Keyshawn Johnson?s record 102-catch season in 1995, still the best in USC and Pac-12 history. He was on pace to challenge Johnnie Morton?s record 1,520 yards receiving for USC in 1993 and the league-record 1,532 yards by Oregon State?s Mike Hass in 2005 before last weekend, but would need two huge games to get there now.

Kiffin said Woods ?shouldn?t have been playing in that game? against the Huskies, but insisted on staying in the lineup.

?We?ve got service-team corners that he can?t run by right now,? Kiffin said. ?He?s just worn down, and the kid is trying to do everything he can, but when you have an ankle and a shoulder, you can?t generate much power. A lot of kids wouldn?t even be playing right now. He just keeps throwing himself back in there.?

Woods hurt his right ankle playing basketball right before the Trojans? spring game, and the injury apparently has lingered. Woods? shoulder injury is more recent, but prevents him from playing effectively whenever he gets hits.

Woods has been limited in practice for several weeks, and his injury struggles have been reflected on the field. He dropped two passes at key points in the Trojans? triple-overtime loss to Stanford last month, and he failed to down the ball on the final play of regulation to set up a winning field goal attempt, instead running to the far sideline while time expired.

Woods? two-catch performance against Washington ? actually just one normal reception and one 6-inch forward pitch from Barkley ? was his lowest total since going without a catch in last season?s game against the Huskies. Freshman Marqise Lee picked up much of the slack with nine catches for 74 yards as the Trojans dominated Washington with their running game, defense and special teams.

Kiffin has speculated Lee eventually will be better than Woods, his former Serra High teammate, but Barkley?s connection with Woods has been the Trojans? most reliable tactic all season long. Woods has said he hopes a strong finish to the season will persuade Barkley to return for another season.

?There?s no secret how it affects us,? Kiffin said. ?The guy has caught over 90 balls, and losing him, we need guys to step up. That?s why these guys practice hard all year long, and they?ll get their chance.?

Woods also returns punts and kickoffs for the Trojans, earning all-conference honors as a freshman, and Kiffin hasn?t pulled Woods off special-teams duty despite his tenderness and the Trojans? wealth of speedy position players. Lee returned a kickoff for a touchdown against Washington, while cornerback Nickell Robey and tailback Curtis McNeal also can handle the jobs.

USC?s injury problems aren?t limited to Woods, either. Defensive tackle DaJohn Harris missed another practice Wednesday after sitting out last week?s game, while star left tackle Matt Kalil and defensive tackle Christian Tupou were limited.

Defensive coordinator Ed Orgeron is cautiously optimistic Harris and Tupou both will return to the starting lineup against the Ducks? powerful running game.

?You need every healthy body you can get against those guys,? Orgeron said. ?I think those (injured) guys will be ready.?
.....................................................................

yeh I think those injured guys will be ready also

including Woods

I dont believe he misses this game.

he has too much riding on this

and to pull together like a team

USC drubbing of Colorado?42-17 at Folsom Field in Boulder?it occurred to me that Matt Barkley would be a great fit wearing Denver Bronco Orange and Blue next season.

He was 25-39 for 318 yards and six TDs with one INT during the Trojans' Pac-12 road contest Friday night. Those six TDs set a USC record for the most in a single game. So far this season, Barkley has 2,608 yards on 229-342 attempts and a 67 percent completion percentage.

He has season stats of 28 TDs against only 6 INTs and a college QB rating of 154.5. That translates to two more TDs and 6 fewer INTs already in this season over last year.

He is decent size at 6' 2", 221 pounds and although he only has one rushing TD, he is mobile enough to move out of the pocket and throw on the move. He seems to be durable with only a shoulder bruise, wrist surgery and a minor ankle injury in his three-year college career.

Barkley was a four-year starter in high school and a starter as a true freshman at USC.

He plays in a pro-style offense under Lane Kiffin and has shown a lot of improvement this year from last season.

Barkley's a California boy, just like Broncos legend John Elway was, and seems to be a natural leader who makes good decisions. Furthermore, he has a very good arm and a quick, accurate release. Oh, and Barkley can play under center or out of the shotgun with equal comfort.

A devout Christian, Barkley would also satisfy all those current fans of Mr. Tebow.

And he brings an additional skill in being able to direct the marching band at halftime.

The draft gurus, assuming he opts to skip his senior season, have him going anywhere from the second to maybe the seventh pick, depending on how the final order works out and the most critical needs of those high selectors. The Broncos will be one of those "lucky" top five or six.

I am not sure he is a better choice than Oklahoma's Landry Jones but, regardless, he sure would be a welcome sight here in Bronco-land.
