Va Tech for 3 units. Va. Tech playing good ball lately. Think their wins over Virginia, St. Johns and others weren't flukes. Va Tech does a nice job underneath and have some bulky guys and some leapers who can hold Miami to one shot. Va. Tech is also a well coached team that plays within itself....Guards are very disciplined and pretty athletic.

Miami is a little more street ball with a coach who hasn't shown he knows how to manage a game over the years. There's always a chance Miami is hot from 3-point land and puts Va Tech in a catchup mode but I'll ride with Va Tech's recent success that they keep this one close or even win it outright. Va Tech is kind of a sleeper team in the big east right now...not as good as the top 4 but certainly in the group right behind which includes Miami. If Va Tech can in at Madison Square Garden, they can be competitive in Miami. Va Tech postiioning itself for the Big East tourney and don't see them uninspired in this one.

Add Ga Southern +3 1/2

Add Ga Southern +3 1/2

Playing Ga Southern for 1 unit. Don't have an opportunity to see these teams play in person or on TV so playing this light. I've followed Ga Sourthern scores closely and they seem to play every team down to the wire winning some and coming close, within a bucket or two in others. They never seem to get blown out. Have made several small plays on them and have yet to lose, so I'll go to the well one more time. Furman in the bottom half of the league and Ga Southern already beat them at home by 8 or so. Ga Southern has played good ball lately against better competition so I'll make a small play they either win this one out right or at least stay within the 3 1/2.

Will go with the Hoyas one more time for 3 units. There doesn't seem to be any homecourt advantage or disadvantage with the Hoyas...in fact, they seem to play better on the road. The question I would have is have the Hoyas thrown in the towel. If I'm not mistaken the Big East actually is not going to have all teams in their tourney with the bottom teams left out...so tonite's game is meaningful if the tourney is the only thing left in either of these teams season...so it should be hard fought. If you use the Pitt and ND games as a barometer, GT should have beaten Pitt (they got screwed on the final foul call) and a missed foul shot or two from beating ND at ND (2 OTs), you could argue they are able to compete with 2 of the top 10 teams in the country at their place...so why not Rutgers? I'll take a chance that tonite they will delay what effectively might be the end of their season with a win on the road. Sweetney will get his 30 plus and GT will match the rest of Rutgers players. I just don't think GT is as bad as their 2-6 record in the conference...they'll do enough to get into the tourney which might mean winning about 2-3 more in the big east.
