-- Not surprisingly Lindy Ruff pulled Derek Roy's line aside for about 20 minutes after practice. The message AGAIN was their five-on-five play and their insistence on passing up great scoring opportunities. Ruff also has an issue with their defensive play. It seems like either Tim Connolly's line is going or Roy's line, but never both.

Paul Gaustad missed a few shifts in Atlanta getting his elbow stitched up. He is questionable for tomorrow in Washington. Others resting minor ailments were Toni Lydman, Craig Rivet and Jochen Hecht. Patrick Lalime was back on the ice. Ruff says he's better, but not good enough to play yet.

The team was very down after the Atlanta game losing that all important point and didn't seem much different today in practice. If they don't perk up by gametime, it could be a very long night for them.
