Bellagio lunch buffet 2015
Bellagio lunch buffet 2015
Seems strange seeing Hummingbirds fighting over my feeder 10 days before xmas.....especially when it is 39 degrees outside.
Tuff birds, they perch in the taller shrubs and catch the morning sun.
The full sunny days and near zero humidity here in the winter do help your attitude, you don't mind those early dog walks too much.
I originally lived in Cleveland Ohio, sunshine in winter was an event to remember.
On to the buffet...strolling thru the Bellagio to the buffet is also a feast for the eyes, something about attractive young women with short skirts, great legs, wearing thigh high leather form fitting boots with high heels kept my moral high.
Vegas buffets are in the eye of the beholder, a few years back I thought the Bellagio buffet was just OK. Back in the mid 90's it was "THE BUFFET" in town, everyone had to play catch-up. Times change, so do buffets and their fare.
Old school pictures (thanks) summed it up....lunch buffet was 24.99
I was tired of prime rib and brisket and steak so I zeroed in on the St Louis Ribs...really good stuff
very meaty and perfectly seasoned.
The fish station was well prepared Salmon and Atlantic Cod...I think Bellagio pays more attention to quality and preparation.
The same dishes at a 12.95 buffet would have been dry and near tasteless.
They had orange citrus beef, sliced flank steak, sausages, rotisserie chicken, pasta dishes, tons of salad and sushi choices, and the obligatory peeled shrimp.
My wife raved about the hand made cold shrimp and veggie spring rolls with a sweet sesame-soy sauce, it was yummy.
For the younger crowd they had very good pizzas, slider burgers, and mini panini pastrami sandwiches (actually the margherita pizza and pastrami sandwiches were quite good)
The real star here to my wife, and probably women everywhere, is the dessert bar.
Tons of goodies, all very well prepared....I saw more than one young lady throw the diet to the wind, and fill up a plate.
Nice thing about a better buffet, you can try things you never have really heard of, and if it is yuk, you just move on to something else.
Call it a "cullinary adventure."
I tried a super rich Mascarpone pastry, had to look it up (mascarpone : Encyclopedia : Food Network
Hailing from Italy's Lombardy region, mascarpone is a buttery-rich double-cream to triple-cream cow's-milk cheese.)
With a cold glass of milk, to quote Guy Fierra, "It was the bomb"
I would never dream of ordering it at a restaurant, would not have known what it was, now I know.
I am a cookie person, they have marvelous Macadamia Nut cookies, I hate to admit it but I wrapped up a few, put them in my coat pocket and had em for a late snack at home.
Walking past the poker room, there was a tourney with 207 entrants just starting. It must have been a big one, there were TV cameras.
