This war has the highest rate of vets returning with limbs missing since the Civil War. It doesn't get much attention, but there are something like 25,000 injuries like that so far.

Has anyone seen the "Alive Day" special on HBO? It's about Iraq War vets with permanent injuries. Very good program.
