VIRGINIA TECH/WEST VIRGINIA Under 53 - The Hokies of Virginia Tech have REVENGE on their minds after a shocking 21-18 home loss to the Mountaineers last season. I expect a concerted defensive effort by Tech in here, and I fully expect them to stuff the West Virginia running game and take the Mountaineers out of their element. Yes, West Virginia is averaging an impressive 178.0 rushing yards per game, but they have yet to face a run defense as stiff as this Virginia Tech unit. The Hokies are allowing only 88.8 rushing yards per contest on a measly 2.6 yards per carry! Considering that West Virginia is averaging just 143.8 yards in the air, I just don?t see them getting out of single digits tonight. On the other side of the ball, the Hokies should be able to run at will vs. a mediocre Mountaineer run defense. Tech is averaging a potent 249.3 rushing yards per contest, so I expect many time consuming drives tonight, helping the Under. Finally, the last 2 meetings between these clubs produced 39 and 35 points respectively, making this total look grossly inflated!
