May not be a virus.... Try running adware.... That may clean up this 'pop up attack'....

Its free from a company called Symatec or something like that... Try that 1st.

First in your hearts.
Here's something I posted a while back. Links still seem to work.

Are you running Spybot? If not, you should be. The Spybot folks are seriously dedicated to destroying malware. They are free, although they do accept donations.

You can download Spybot for free here: http://www.spybot.com

If that does not fix it, post your specific problem in the spybot help forum. Only certified computer geeks are able to post replies there, so you won't eff up your compo.

http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=22

Read this thread first:

http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288

After you have done that download Hijack This. Only use Hijack This to create a log. Do not use it to fix problems, even though it has that option. Again, do not use Hijack This to try to fix your problem.

http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en...kthis/download

After you download and install it do a system scan and check the "save a logfile" option. Copy and paste the logfile into a new thread in the spybot forum. The geeks there might take a day or two to answer, but their advice will be tight. And they will keep working with you until you get it fixed. Give that a try.

Isn't SmitfraudFix designed just to fix the Smitfraud trojan? I've never used it, so I'm not saying anything bad about it, I just wondered.

From google it looks like Spybot has trouble repairing Smitfraud trojan, so if that's what you've got then you might want to head towards SmitfraudFix.

Recently when dealing with spyware, I don't even use Spybot, but use: Malware Bytes

http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=5756

Main thing is after you get it all fixed is to remove some of the programs that helped remove it otherwise it will slow your computer down.

Also make sure your computer is up to date on Windows updates, flash player updates, and other system updates.

All the geeks say you should run at least two different anti-spyware/malware programs as no single one on the market can catch everything by itself.

I was wondering which the latest and best free ones are now (changes every several months--and best free ones always equal or better than paid ones), so went over to Gizmo (who tests all these free programs) and found his latest top two are: MalwareBytes Anti-Malware and SuperAntiSpyware. He found that AdAware wasn't bad, but Spybot S&D now nearly worthless.

He also reports my Zone Alarm firewall also nearly worthless (used to be the best!) and I'm changing that as we speak!

You find links to all his recent reviews here.

spybot, adaware, and cc cleaner won't remove the toughest virus.

you need the smitfraud fix. download and follow these instructions. works for even the hardest virus and easy to use.
