Blitz,you already have some good advice here.With TKTS more then likley "The Producers" won't be on the board.That you will have to buy in advance.Plays like Momma Mia won't be there either.If you want to see one of those plays just call ticketmaster and pay the price.Save on other things,splurg on Broadway.There are still a lot of good plays on the bd left that you will get 50% off.
Hotels vary.Go to priceline,travelocity,etc.There a great deals there.
Spend one day like this.
Start at 42nd Street..Times Square
Walk to the 47th,48th and cross over 2 blocks to Ave of America's..Radio City,NBC Rockefeller Center,Ice rink.{NBC has a tour that is pretty nice.See Dateline,Sat Nite Live studios,etc]
Or skip it,cross 5th ave,go into St Patricks.Saks 5th Ave.If catholic lite a candle under one the 30 saints.St Anthony is still No 1.
Make a right out of Patties and walk up[uptown] 5th ave.NBA Store is a few blocks on the left.Walk up to[56th street] Trump Towers[where Apprentice" is filmed.
A little further up is FAO Swartz[back in buisness] toy store where "Big" was flimed.Walk into Central Park only about 500-600 yds in the central park zoo.It's a few bucks but go see the polar bears.One has the anxiety problem and does the same thing over and over.Unreal site.On your way home you'll talk more about that polar bear then half the sites.
Walk up a few more blocks and there is the Metropolitan Museum.Van Gogh collection is still on display.Call for prices.I thinks its expensive but VG's self portrait,starry nites,etc are there.You'll never see it again.
If you skip the metro go back to 52nd st.Take a bus back to Broadway or to 42nd or 43rd.
Go eat at Carmines at 44th and Broadway.Right next to Carmines is "Oodles".Great chinese food, fresh noodles made.Carmines is awesome.Italian family style.
The NY public library is near there on 42nd.Take a picture next to the famos 2 lions Pride and ahhh[forgot] Prudence???Go insde the library..into the main room.How many movies where filmed there.You'll say "I've been here".
Grand Central station is close.The UN is a few blocks further down.
Of course there is the Empire St,Ellis island,etc.Wall street
