Current Line:

O/U 47

Waiting on status of two Vols LB's Curt Maggitt and Herman Lathers. I feel like both will play, but want to make sure. Vols are pretty healthy coming into this game, and back-ups Dontavis Sapp and Willie Bohannan looked real good.

I know OLB, Jelani Jenkins and CB, Cody Riggs are out for Saturday's game for Florida. Sr. RB, Mike Gillislee, has a strained groin, but Muschump thinks he will be fine. Florida HAS TO be able to run the ball, or this will be over.

Line is moving the Vol's way, and I really want to hammer this but being cautious. Thought the line would be at least 4-5.

Should be a great game game. Gators probably will try to 'shrink the game' and play keep-a-away. Be waiting on your follow-up.

This is the only way they can compete. If they can run the football, this will be a very close game. I don't see this being anything other than a Vol 2-3 TD win, or a FG either way.

A&M is not good. They came in fired up and the Gayturds did a good job of weathering the emotional storm(as did Georgia), and making the two newbies that we play physical for four quarters here in the SEC. I am also a little concerned about the fact that Driskel might be able to step up in the pocket and be a little bit more elusive when Mo and AJ come off the edge.

Knoxville is all a buzz about the College Gameday crew headed back after years of awful football. Let's face it, this is by far the "most talented" team the Vols have had since the 2001 SEC runner-up to LSU. Now, "most talented" does not always equal "most wins." A win against NC State was great for Dooley, but the fans want a win over Florida.

I am 99% sure that LB Curt Maggitt will play on Saturday, and I am 90% sure that LB Herman Lathers will as well. What this does is give the Vols depth at the LB position, and will help bring fresh bodies come in to wreak havoc on Driskel.

Let me be very clear - Florida easily has the better total defense between these two teams. I don't think there is any debate about that. Where there are issues are in the injury department, and the secondary. The secondary for Florida is the weakest link on the three units. In fact, I would put the Vols secondary up against Florida's any day of the week.

When it comes to offense, there is no comparison. The only way Florida has a chance to win this game is for Driskel to be able to make clutch throws. The line will be stacked and I don't believe Florida's backs are that great.

Texas A&M has a great and raucous atmosphere at Kyle Field. Neyland Stadium will be sold out for the first time in the Dooley area. The energy level at both places were, and will be electric. The difference is that Tennessee doesn't have a freshman as a starting QB. Bray can, and will throw the ball to anyone, anywhere, anytime. He made the #1 CB in the nation look average at best. The tempo is going to be fast and furious, and quite frankly, Florida winning by 10 at the swamp last year with losing Hunter makes me think this is one that these players have been looking at for some time.

If not know, when? If not here, where?

I am hearing from my buddy who does a daily radio show that Gator RB, Gilllislee is hurting more than they are letting on. Are there any Florida guys with connections to media that can confirm?

I TOTALLY DISAGREE, THEY HAVE MORE DEPTH AT THE CORNER/D-LINE THAN ANYWHERE ELSE ON THE FIELD. THEY ALSO GET POP SAUNDERS BACK! I DON'T HAVE ANY INSIDE INFO ON MIKE, BUT YOUR RIGHT WITHOUT HIM IM WORRIED.......I WOULD SAY GOOD LUCK SKIPPER, BUT YOU KNOW I WOULDN'T MEAN IT;)

Thanks CB - and don't expect you to wish me luck :mj07:

I just don't think Florida's secondary has been tested yet, and with Jenkins out, that will open up some spots in the dink and dunk range. Riggs being out will also really hurt with depth when it comes to the uptempo style offense and not being able to substitute.

I think I would take any unit of the Florida defense over Tennessee. This game.comes down to 3 things; can Tennesse run the ball, special teams (Tennessee has tendency to give up kickoff or punt for TD vs Florida), and health of Gillislee.

I haven't seen this much excitement in Knoxville in a long time. They better win or this excitement can turn into a lot of problems for.Dooley.

I don't disagree with much of what you said. I think the secondaries are a wash, but conversely, I would take any Tennessee offensive unit over Florida, with the exception of a healthy Gillislee.

As far as special teams go, the likelihood of Tennessee having a big return this year is much higher than Florida. The Vols are much better in coverage and they are averaging almost 30 yards per kickoff return and over 10 yards per punt return(giving up 20 per kick, and -1 per punt). The kicking game is a different story. If it comes down to a last second FG, I don't like our chances.

The QBs and WRs of Tennessee are so much better than UF it's not even funny. Patterson is the closest thing I've seen to a Moss/Julio. Glad AU doesn't play you guys this year

I agree offensively with exception of tight end but if included as a receiver then completely agree. Florida hasn't had many opportunities in the kickoff game as opposing kickers are just booting it in the endzone. Dubose is a proven kick returner as he has taken multiple to the house so I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a chance he doesnt run one in or put Florida in good shape to punch one in.

patterson reminds me of brandon marshall

Patterson is a freak, which is all the more better for Justin Hunter. Fans were scared when Patterson was going to return kickoffs with Devrin Young, but after that reverse against NC State and the return last week, fans shut up.

"Pig" Howard has also been cleared to play tomorrow, and he is a freak as well. I just wish the running back position was as deep as the WR position.
