This line is too high. The Hokies have nothing to lose and have played well at Miami during their recent run. I haven't put the play in yet and I can't figure which way it will move -- I assume lower.

But I think the Holies will put a scare into them. This is the game they have had circled for a while, and what better way to salvage the season after such a disappointing ending.

All thoughts are appreciated.

Jeff,

Here's my thinking:

All Miami needs to do is win this game. . . margin of victory has absolutely nothing to do with whether they get in the Fiesta Bowl or not. I think this will be their focus as opposed to blowing out Virginia Tech.

You're right about Tech. . . they will come out and give their best effort as this is like a bowl game to them since Miami is the #1 team in the land. Can't imagine them folding and allowing the Canes to walk all over them. Also, if Miami is up by 24 with one minute to go and Tech has the ball, better believe they are gonna go for those 7 points. If Miami is up by 17 with 4 minutes to go at midfield, I'm sure they will run the ball and simply attempt to run the clock out. Completely different motivation factors at the end of the game.

Have a little more to look at, but I think Tech is the right side!

yeh but Miami may want to make this a statement game for Ohio St to watch. Could mean big trouble for VT.
Especially in Miami.

F/H @ +8 is probably the best bet IMO.

Tech will come out fired up and hang w/ the Canes...but the 2nd half very well could be a different story.

Just my 2 cents...usually worth about half of that...:D

I had been fading VT for a number of weeks and finally got burned by it last week. Maybe its no coincidence, but they now have both Jones and Suggs back. Miami's weak spot is against the run, and w/the pressure on Miami to just win, I think the Canes will be tight enough to let VT hang w/in the 17.

OK, I'm a bit late on this one, but uhhh .....

:D

Can you say lucky? Miami could have and probably should have won by 28 or 35. With a big # like that in this rivalry, though:nono:

Anyways, I'll probably be going against the Canes again after New Years. They're loaded but I think OSU can hang with them. Look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts on that game.
