Talk is Wade Phillips is the new head coach of
America's Team the Dallas Cowboys.
Is he just another puppet or does he have the credentials to do the job? Hope he does a better job than that over-rated, few games over 500 fat-ass Parcell :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

They better hope Garrett lives up to the hype as the OC. Wow Jones is a freaking idiot!

This is where Jerry is putting all the marbles.

Wade can run a D for sure. 3-4 will tighten up nicely under him.

I worry about the game management the most.

It seems Garrett is going to have full control over the offense......

Listen to most of the hire confernce. Seems like the Boys will be ok. If you think about it, Coach Phillips has the most expierence than a bunch of coaches in the league. I wish him well. Think he can improve the D, IMO that was the broken link.

Ultimately, Wade will fail and be fired and run out of town much like Chan Gailey or whoever the hell he was. The Cowboy organization should have hired Singletary and I think they will grow to regret that move.

It is hysterical to me to think that "the Boys will be okay" with Wide Phillips on the heels of Parcells. Phillips has never won a playoff game, Parcells is truly considered one of the games greatest. How exactly, does that add up to the Super Bowl in three years. Are the glaring weaknesses suddenly gone or solvable? Will Wade be able to teach Roy Williams how to cover a deep route? Will Terrell learn how to get along with everybody and catch the ball? Will Julius Jones be that much better or still limited by his straight ahead downhill running style?

And am I the only person that remembers that Romo never had a good game past his fifth in the league(the over/under for games in the NFL for the league to catch up to QB idiosyncracies and tendencies) Oh yeah, Wade was hired and fired by one team and then not given a sniff by anyone for 5-6 years because he..............my friends..............will solve the problems of a team that Bill "fuhking" Parcells could not.

The ability of all Cowboy fans to believe in miracles is truly amazing to me.

If it was easy, anyone could do it. The Cowboys are a good team the need play maker in a few spots. Surely, Wade has the experience to satify these needs. What I like about Wade is he is here, he doesn't have one foot on the door. He will be more dedicated to the Boys than the ex Coach. You talk highly about Parcell, but what exactly did he do. Sure he got some great 1st round picks, even he couldn't fuk that up.
As far as Romo, if someone can polish the coal, he might become something who knows. It beats having Bledsoe, Quincy, Testivery, Testivery,sp
What a Joke
Parcell never respected the QB position and it came back to bite him in the Ass. We are in the same situation with the QB position as when he arrived.

not all of us are as gullible as Jerry would want us to be..

no hire is a good hire til Jerry gets his tight face out of the picture.

Bill might have been able to turn the corner..we will never know...But having a disgruntled mother-law as a wide receiver sure isn't Bill's way of doing things..

Per usually since Jimmy left..Jerry's way or the highway..The highway to nowhere.

I agree with you that it is not easy, but I think recent success of younger talent in the coaching arena needs to be considered. What are you getting in Wade that you didn't have in Parcells only to a lesser value. Okay he may be a bit more player friendly so to speak than Parcells but do you honestly believe that will help this team? You can't, could you?
As far as his first round picks and nobody being able to screw that up, please see Dave Wanstadt and all teams he ever coached, or Dick Jauron or the Bears team for that matter from the late eighties up until recently.
Every QB you mentioned would all tell you that they loved playing for Parcells. That includes Romo. So I guess we will just have to see but I am guessing that they should have gone with a younger talent because Jason Garrett will not be the answer either.

Keep in mind that Dallas has been using the draft and free agency to mold their defense into a strong 3-4 system. Phillips knows the 3-4.

So does another coach that isn't available for this year but most certainly is going to be for the following one...... Bill Cowher.

from what i have read cowher could end up in either carolina (with fox going to the giants) or cleveland (where he played).
