19 points is too many in my opinion. I think the line is a reflection of GT beating WF by 17 at Groves Stadium. That was one of the poorer efforts by WF under Jim Grobe. The fact is.. they play very smart.. don't turn the ball over (averaging over 1 a game... same as FSU) and they have solid special teams (#1 punt team in ACC). True they have given up some yards this season compared to last.. but I think that is more of a reflection on who they've played.. (PURDUE held to 16 pts, Tech, Virginia and NCSU who runs up yardage on everyone)
They're running game is starting to take hold.. 164 yards for Barclay this weekend vs. duke. I don't belive in FSU's Rix.. who makes too many poor decisions.

I usually just read what you all have to say on this site.. but feel strongly about this play and wanted to get opinons..thanks.

Wake +19.. ;)

i tend to agree.

having said that, ever since ive started capping, ive never been big on playing against florida and florida state. the main reasons behind that are because bowden and (when he was there) spurrier are two coaches that really pound the pi$$ outta teams sometimes and dont let up. so its tough to take a dog against them sometimes.

i do think wake is the right side in this one. only concern is will wake be able to run the ball against the fsu defensive front? grobe is an option kind of coach who doesnt like to put the ball in the air all that much.

all in all, i do agree with your play. for now i pass, but i think youre on the right side.

Thanks Gman2..
I agree.. inferior teams melt in Fla. I was reading Grobe's press conference quotes and he thinks his team will not be intimidated by being in Tallahassee. That being said.. running the ball will be tough.. although Barclay is fully healed from his sprained ankle.

Playing the most difficult competition you'll face all year on the second leg of a 2 game road trip is not an easy task.

After being embarrassed in their last home game by visiting Miami, the FSU fans will want heads served on silver platters.

Kudos to Wake for some gutsy, above average performances, but not this week, not on the road and not this opponent.

FSU can strike fast and often.

19 is hefty, but FSU is capable.

No play.

Don't forget -- Wake will have 17 men on the field at all times. A few holding calls in the red zone, and a 42-17 win turns into a 26-17 win real fast.

Wake might win this game out right.

Buddy,
FSU can strike fast and often

When has this happened all year?? The FSU coaching staff does not put Chris Rix in a position to succeed. They are going to struggle and be inconsistent until there is some changes made on this staff.
