Cam Ward will make his 28th straight start in goal Thursday night when the Canes host the Buffalo Sabres, coach Paul Maurice said today.
Ward notched his sixth shutout of the season, tying the franchise record, in the Canes' 9-0 rout of the New York Islanders on Tuesday.
Defenseman Joe Corvo, who sat out Tuesday's game with the flu, said today he feels better and plans to rejoin the lineup for the Sabres.
Maurice said a decision would be made Friday on the goaltender for Saturday's regular-season finale at New Jersey. He has said he would like backup Michael Leighton to get a start before the playoffs.
