I normally post in the NCAA football threads because I do a lot of research on those games. I play the NFL but to date I have been getting CRUSHED. A monkey flipping a coin while in a $hit fight has had a better chance of picking the winner than I over the past 2 weeks.
That being said....
Cleve (-4) over Mia
Miami has QB issues, they have not been very good against the pass. Clevland plays well at home, pass the ball well and are off a beating against NE. This is a team that pasted all day on Cincy and Balt, I think Anderson can find holes in the Mia secondary.
Minny (+4.5) over Chic
This is scary because the last 2 weeks the vikes offense lead by Kelly Holcum was not good down the field but they have options and with Peterson and Taylor in the backfield I like the challenge they present to Chicago. I am not sold on another good game from the Griese. He played well last week but not so well against Detroit. The Vikes defense should get to him. Not happy about the locker room fight for the Vikes but hoping that gets them fired up.
Washington (+3) over GB
Both teams playing well but farve and some turnovers are just not gonna do it against the ground game of washington. Benson was productive on the ground last week against GB and he has been non-existant all season. Washington can run the ball, plus Cooley is a big mismatch as Olsen and Clarke were for Chicago.
Tenn (+2.5) over TB
I know TB has been playing well but IMO they are too banged up. Tenn off a bye should be focused and ready to run the ball on the Tampa 2 defense. Garcia will try to test Tenn deep but the secondary for Tenn is dangerous and play solid man to man.
Oak (+9.5) over SD
I have not drank the kool-aid for SD. They won a game against a bad denver team. They still looked terrible in the past weeks. Oakland is fast aggressive and have nothing to lose. They have been playing well with a patch work QB position. Culpepper is not the answer but after last week I think he might fit in well with Oakland. They have talent at RB, they get Rhodes in the line-up even with Jordan out. Porter and Curry are good deep threats and the Line is playing well. Plus oaklands defense will test SD. They are used to LT and I am sure they have a little payback in mind for Norv.
NE (-5.5) over Dallas
Smoke and Mirrors is how dallas has gotten this far. They have not beaten any real good teams other than the Giants and they are headed to the buzz saw. Phillips comments about the records for NE are tarnished and they don't deserve them will fire the troops up. I was on SD when thery played NE and this NE team is very good, they game plan well and they are on the same page of winning. Dallas with a short week, off an emotion win do not have the defense to stop NE. NE on the other hand has the defense to stop Romo, he was in a sdlump last year and he laughed it off but it never really got better. Against Buff TO and Romo were all smiles but against NE is Romo throws a pick I could expect a blow up between those two.
Cheers
