I agree Raymond. It was 88 but I would have let him finish since he was even more dominating than game #1. That guy could have thrown 120 the way he looked. Or at the very least should have Swindell come in for the lefthanded hitters like Tino. I'm just glad I didn't break anything.

On the course!
The fact is, your closer ought to get the job done.

If Schilling stays in and gives up the game, the whole world says, "Why was he still in?" "I told you 3 days rest was not enough!" etc......When a guy wins, he gets the credit, when it's a loss, the manager sucks.....one of the bottom ends of that job.

2-2, and we have a best of 3 now.

Raymond we definetly got robbed. I keep hearing about Brenly pulling him to save him for game 7. WHY??? If you are going for the kill then go for it!!! Schilling should had stayed in. That shows great confidence in your team when you are looking at game 7. There may not even be a 7 you MORON, he has let the Yanks back in and I can't see Arizona pulling it out now.Too bad because Schilling left it all out on the field and gave it his all. The man is all HEART!!! Brenly is jst an idiot!
Thanks for the vent.

I DON'T THINK SCHILLING WANTED OUT. HE KNOWS HE WILL HAVE THE WHOLE OFFSEASON TO 'REST'.

HE HAD THE YANKEES GUESSING FOR 14 INNINGS. HE COULD HAVE EASILY HAD THEM GUESSING FOR A COUPLE MORE......

YYZ YOU ARE RIGHT THAT THE CLOSER SHOULD GET THE JOB DONE. I THINK THE POINT BEING DEBATED HERE IS THAT THOUGH. THE QUESTION WAS DID THEY NEED TO GO TO CLOSER.....

I PERSONALLY BEING THERE, DID NOT THINK THEY NEEDED TO.

this was just another classic example off managers having to over manage. All these BS unwritten rules in baseball now about closers!! Setup man can only be setup guy, closer can only come in if statistical close is at stake. All this is crap, Torre is the only one with enough balls to make Rivera pitch 2 innings, most managers only let closer go 1, like he can't possibly get 4 or 5 outs!

What ever happened to complete games?? Look up how many complete games Gibson, Seaver, Carlton, Palmer, Hunter, etc. etc. that's not even getting into young, Johnson, Matthewson etc. Point being I keep hearing the reason why more long balls are being hit is because hitters are stronger, better conditioned athletes (diets, nutrition, weights etc. etc.) doesn't this apply to pitchers?? In my opinion Schilling is more than physically capable of finishing that or most any game he starts. Just this stupid fu**ingnotion that closer MUST BE USED continues to be p used in current baseball.

The question should not be why did they take him out. We know he should not have. But, the question should be why did he stick with Kim sooooo long? Retarded!
