Washington State is having some illness problems as it prepares to host Arizona State this Saturday for sole possession of first place in the Pac-10. Head coach Mike Price reported that the flu bug has found its way into the locker room and at least a dozen players have been out of practice so far this week, including a couple players in the hospital. Price did not identify the ill players, but stated that the illness appeared to be of the 24-hour variety. Price expects a healthy team by the time Saturday rolls around, but the lack of practice time poses a legitimate concern.

) Washington State has handicapped itself for Saturday?s conference showdown with Arizona State, as the Cougars will be without two defensive starters following a locker room scuffle. Head coach Mike Price confirmed yesterday that junior strong-side linebacker Ira Davis has been suspended indefinitely for his role in an altercation with junior cornerback Jason David. David, who has intercepted a pass in five straight games, had his cheekbone fractured during the fight and, as a result, will be lost for 4-to-6 weeks. Sophomore Karl Paymah will take David?s place in the secondary, but a starter has not yet been named to replace Davis. In addition, senior kickoff specialist Adam Holiday has been suspended for one week for an undisclosed violation of team rules. Redshirt freshman Graham Siderius will handle the kickoffs this weekend.
