Season-to-date: 4-2-1
Kansas City TT Under 13.5
Tampa Bay -9.5
Tampa has allowed just 13, 10, 3, and 16 points in its last four games, facing offenses much more powerful than Kansas City's. Tyler Thigpen looked like a legit NFL quarterback last week against the Jets. Up to that point he had not thrown for more than 151 yards in any game. I look for this to be a similar game to the Sunday nighter Tampa played against Seattle just a few weeks ago.
Houston & Minnesota UNDER 47
The Vikings are two weeks removed from allowing the Bears to run up 48 points. In every meeting, in every practice, in every drill over the last two weeks, these defenders have been reminded of that. The total is set at 47 despite a Houston offense that comes in averaging 29.2 pp/g over their L5. In fact, the average total in the L5 for Houston has been 52 points scored. So the line opens at 46.5, not 48 or even 49. Hmmm...
Philadelphia -7
Strictly a homer play...I was at the parade in Philly on Friday and the atmosphere was amazing. The city came alive again. The other teams in Philly had to stand up and take notice and want to continue those good feelings for this long suffering city. Heck, the Flyers have even won four straight after their disastrous start. Also, four of the five Seahawk's losses have come by double digits. The lone exception was a 33-30 setback to the 49ers.
Matt Cassel +1 points+pass completions OVER Al Jefferson (-120)
Cassel has a minimum 16 completions since becoming the full time starter. Indy is certainly a team you can run against but they are susceptible to dinking and dunking, as evidenced by Kerry Colliins last week. New England has shown they will pass no matter the score as they threw 12 passes in the second half against Denver despite leading 20-0 at the half (vs. 12 in the first half).
