I feel a lot of people might consider the under in the Cubs game today because of John Hirshbeck behind the plate. Even tho his record is 15-11 under I would not consider him a under ump this year. He has one of the largest strike zones in bb which usually works in the pitcher's favor but he can narrow it down in a hurry. I believe he will end the year fairly nuetral. Now here's the real problem. The wind is out to right which is almost as good as out to center. Yesterday with out to left I believe we had the over made if not for the rain. Still we only missed it by 1. As much as I would like to take the over today (because of the wind) I think I'll try to find something else. Good luck

i still like the under here.

John hirschbeck is a consistent under ump

24-8 under 1997
20-11 under 1998
18-12 under 1999
13-9 under 2000
21-10 under 2001
15-9 under 2002 (depends on the number you get i guess)

he is 12-3 under this year RHP vs RHP.

he did go over in coors recently (13 runs with a 12.5 total)
and you can claim wrigley is a special case like coors.

but youhave 2 pretty decent pitchers going today and an ump that usually has a pretty big strike zone.

i've been wrong before though :)

sdf, you have the correct record. I just can't count. I have another reason to believe Hirshbeck might go over today and with the wind, it's still a pass. There's plenty of games for me out there.

Do you think Colo can sweep Fla? I wouldn't bet against it. Kulpa is one of my favorite dog umps and he is coming off a fav win. Fla has won 5 times with him behind the plate but 3 were as dogs. Col has won their last four road games, all as dogs. Neagle has only worked with him once but that was a 10-2 win. Dont know if I will play the game or not but can't go with Fla.

Joe...Actually Florida's one of those teams, I really won't even consider taking at the current time.....just think the team's in a little dissarray both mentally and physically...plus like you said today Kulpa's behind the plate. Came close to playing Colorado last night, but couldn't pull the trigger.....pretty much just the sweep theory more than anything I guess.

Good luck in your plays today!

Just a little FYI

Just a little FYI

I have watched Florida play the last 2 nights and they look like they have quit literally about as much emotion as a rock shows. They are swinging at balls like they just want to get the game over and their fielding is just as lackluster and Colorado looks like they know Fla has quit and are just going through the motions. Believe me when I tell you they really look like they could care less if they are playing or not and the Manager looks like he doesn't give a shit either. Just thought I would add that.

agree with RBI....fla looks pretty complacent out there.
not drawing many walks...just going up and hackin away.

i could see a COL sweep...they have won 7 of 10.
fla has lost 7 of 10.

i like the under more.....niether offense can seem to do much lately. plated 9 runs last night with Nelson behind the plate and 2 mediocre pitchers going.

Going with

Atl -180 (a little high for me but a lot of reasons from the ump side) also shows a strong chance for the over but Glavin always does well with umps with big strike zones.

Phil -155
u 9'
Pit o 9

WLA shows Tex o 11' but will go with these.

Good luck everyone
