TB at MN............

MN just 2-8-2-1 in Dec. But they had a very tough schedual. TB 3-2-2 last seven on road. But Jan has lately been "scary" for TB, last four seasons combined January record is 6-43-3-2!

TB has two important defensemen out now, Pratt and Cullimore. Pratt replaced by M. Biron, called up from minors. Biron has zero goals in 11 TB games this year.

MN GP leader Brunette might be out due to sore shoulder, decision later today.

TB will probably start Khabib in goal, he's slipped a bit lately. MN has been using Fernandez more after Roloson's losing streak. But Fernandez has never played against TB, and Roloson is 2-1-0 vs TB, 1.62 gga, .941 avg. With that record and at home, they may use him tonight.

MN has won the two meetings these teams have had, 4-2 Feb 2001 in TB, and 6-5 oct 2000 at MN. Tonight is only meeting this year.

Under hit 15-5 with TB on the road--back when Khabib was the "Bhulin Wall". Over has cashed in 13-4 in MN home games this season.

Thrashers at Stars................

Dallas 3-1 ATS all time vs Thrashers, 4-0 SU. The ATS loss was the single -1.5 spread. But two other wins were a two goal, and last one--eight days ago--was 4-1 in AT.

Dallas has scored more than 2 goals only twice in last 7 games. But a offensive burst is overdue, Turgeon hasn't scored in 13 games, tying a record for him--and Modano is in a big drought too. Atlanta would be the team to pound on, they've allowed more goals than any other team in NHL this season.

Tho AT, like Nash, generally plays better in re-match against at team that whupped them earlier in season.

Belfour is expected to goal tonight, but Turco doing so well, wouldn't be surprise to see him in the crease. Belfour playing better, but maybe he needs a bit more competitive pressure.

Blackburn in goal for NYR tonight against Edmonton. Newsday reports that his mother and 20 freinds and relatives will be there.

He dominated one Canadian team this season, Montreal, but against Toronto Cujo and team beat him 5-4. Rangers 4-0-4 at Edmonton since 1996 sez ticker. Four unders, two overs, two pushes.

I imagine Salo will start for Edmonton. He's been a little poor lately, but now at home and off nice rest.

Yahoo report states Lindross may try and play tonight against Edmonton. Lindros described his concussion as "mild", but it may affect his ability to play full out. NY won last year at NY 4-3 with a late goal...and has not lost at ED since 1996.

ED is 3rd game in 4 nights, and NY is 4th game in 6 nights, all away games. This may lead to tired teams - poor D - and a high total...IP
