yesterday: 0-1 -0.7
season: 27-30 -1.54
ML: 13-15 -2.36
PL: 2-2 +0.3
totals: 1-4 -1.72
parlays & IFs: 10-8 +2.24
props: 1-1 0
Glad I took it easy yesterday. Close to trying the Blues and they lost. Almost tried all 3 of Habs, Blues and Flames on the -1.5 and that...actually...I would have done better than my 0-1 by going 1-2 and only dropping one sixth of my risk instead of the whole thing. 'Course, my risk would have been near triple so it would have been comparable. Nevermind. Just thinking out loud.
PLAYS
lightning +100 0.6/0.6
--this team has been shit on the road but I think that this year's version of the Devils makes for real good fade material
hurricanes -105 1.26/1.2
--another former Champ that seems to be having a comeback year, but this club actually has some decent goaltending with Ward; can't wait 'til they play the Sens--should be a great game; Panthers have dropped 2 straight to mediocre opponents (Sabres and Preds) and have lost 4 of their past 5...goalkeep Vokoun has come back to earth after a great start to the season; price is right for this contending team
Kings -135 0.94/0.7
--Kings have played 6 solid games in a row, with the only loss being a 4-3 victory by the Flames in their rink, one of the toughest places to play in the NHL; 3-4 weeks ago a buddy of mine told me that the Kings would be a much improved team this season and I sort of scoffed at the idea, but I've been riding them over the past few and I think they might keep things rolling here at home; Jackets have been playing some decent hockey themselves otherwise this bet might have been larger
Stars -1.5 for +165 was a brief thought, but they haven't looked great lately and I think that Khabibulin is every bit as good as Turco in the cage. 'Hawks have been worse than the Stars lately, mind you, so the prospect of backing them is a bit of a turn off.
I gotta get more in tune with what's happening this NHL season. I've always found that 'capping the ice is much more difficult than baseball or football. Maybe I should bide my time until the Senators next win...er...I mean game.
I miss baseball.
