Marq has the Ellerson who is playing great...his 6'11 other partner Fisher are a force inside...they beat up a lot of weak teams but when they play some "comp" the games are close..beat Wisky by 2,LSU by 1,lost to zona st in ot...lost to Belmont and Iowa big...Hall had only bad loss and that to was to GW and we now know GW is a powerhouse.Hall just beat Wichita in OT...Hall has one of the best gds in the country in Whitehead...Carrington and Gordan are solid gds also.. Delgado is 6'9 and has to do battle with Ellerson inside..if he stays out of foul trouble I think the Pirates could in this...
UTA -3.5 over Geo St ****
Mavs only problem was they had a break on their schedule..Hervey is avg 17 pts and 9bds...Neal is 13 pts with 51 assists..they have speed everywhere...they can score and play solid defense...Geo hasn't found its offense yet ..they rank in the 300's in offense,3 pt shooting and rebounding...this team is to good to be playing like that but UTA is the wrong team to match up against.
Houston -6.5 over USF ***
Think Coogs have to much offense with Gray and co. Roberson can pass,Pollard is tough..
Cuse +7.5 over Pitt **
Cuse 2-3 was getting killed by TSU the other day...hopefully Boe passed on some notes to his replacement so there is no repeat...
Georgetown -3 over DePaul **
Not impressed with either team...but Hoya's are the better team..
Oakland +16 over Vir **
Think Vir overlooks Oak and then just win by 10....
URI -7.5 over Brown *
Think URI's top player is out..Iverson...will pass if he doesn't play..listed doubtfull
Texas St -7.5 over Ga Southern **
Southerns top 6 scorers are all gds...Bobcats top 3 scorers are all fds...something has to give...I'll ean with Kaspers team....his kids might not score but they play great defense..ranked 4th in the nation...Kasper played at North Texas and coached all those great teams from Steven F Austin...this is his 3rd yr at Texas St and still hasn't recruited a big time scorer...but I'll go with the home team so I can cheer tonite sitting court side..
Last nite went to the Texas-UConn game..thank you Doglover for the tickets...had a great time with you,your wife and your friends...we sat right next to Charlie Strong...Doglover was trying to get some inside scoops on the Longhorns football team next year..lol
It was a good game to watch...Texas took some ill advised 3's with about 4 minutes left that really killed them..but it was a 2-3 pt game throughout....Seton Halls Gibbs played the point...never rattled, no turnovers and had the ball in his hand the last 4-5 minutes...hit his FT's...nice road win for the Huskies..
