OK, I pulled a trademaster, playing the Quacks instead of passing tonite......

In addition to the rambling I made in my "Monday Cup Run" thread, a few more factors made me pull the trigger.......

1) More players with playoff experience in Ana than Minny
2) In 6 H2H meetings this yr, Minny had been SHUTOUT 4 TIMES!
3) Minny's perfect in elimination games this yr, this game ain't one of them
4) Overwhelming concensus on Minny tonite (not counting MadJacks) = bad news
5) The biggest factor, 6th game in 9days with travel to Vancouver, Minneapolis, and to Los Angeles

A sweep?? Why not?? It hasn't been done since '92. I say it's way overdue. Minny is so frustrated right now, they're just trying to put the puck on goal with no real organization. They tried to create traffic in front of Giggy, but couldn't get any shots off because the Ducks were all over the puck. This is not just a one man show, it's a team effort. What an unbelievable run so far by the Ducks.

Ducks were outshot again, 35-32, including 16-11 in the 1st period. But out of those 35 shots, I can count with one hand how many quality chances Minny got. The streak is now 12 of 13 games in which the Ducks were outshot by their opponents. The 1 game was 32-32 even, I think vs Dallas.

And guess who won the face-off battles again?? Ana with a 46-31 edge. The makes it all 7 meetings between these 2 teams that Ana has had face-off advantages.

1/2 way thru the 3rd period, I was actually contemplating taking Minny in G4 to hedge my Ana series bet......until all the extracurricular chit instigated by Minny / LeMaire at the very end. The Ducks could have pilled it on, but didn't, because they didn't want to disturb a wounded animal. But what LeMaire did was basically pissing into the wind, poke a lion in the face, pull a horse's tail from behind, or whatever analogy you wanna use. I think they basically sealed their own fate of being swept. The Ducks are gonna go at Minny harder than the 1st 3 games, and Giggy will be right behind them to back them up. Did you see Babcock going off on LeMaire in the Ana bench, he was so pissed it looked like his head was about to explode

So I say......Break Out the Broom, Turn Out the Lights, the Party is OVA!

Taking the Sens tomorrow. They looked pretty lethargic last game except for Havlat, and with the Redden/Stevenson incident, the Sens should be plenty fired up for tomorrow's game.
