New Jersey
NEW JERSEY -3.5 over San Antonio

Jersey has the talent and bodies to hang with the Spurs. Steve Smith is out and isnt as good as he was years ago, but Spurs lack a big time player who can create his own shot. Spurs foul shooting worries me. Speedy Claxton is out too. If Jason Kidd starts owning Tony Parker what does Popivitch do? Last five games FT numbers SA: 69.7 NJ: 81.8. Will be a close game in the fourth and Spurs will be trailing and foul. Nets FTs will ice the game and the cover.

Philly +4 over BOSTON

Teams very even in a lot of differentials (points, FTs, FGs, 3FGs) except for rebounds. Philly is +5 while Boston is -2.2. See Iverson and Co keeping it close. McKie and Snow will play tough D on Pierce and Walker. That lets Van Horn and Iverson do the scoring.

CLEVELAND +11 over Dallas

Mavs have to lose sometime. Don't expect an outright loss but Dallas is missing Van Exel and Lafrentz. Depth will be a probably and Cavs are young and a high energy team. Will run and play reckless.

Chicago +8 over MILWAUKEE

Bucks rely on the 3 point shot and their are nights it won't fall. Young bulls have many young F/Cs Fizer, Baxter, ERob, Chandler, Curry and will clean glass. Jay Williams has stepped up his game. Triple double last time out.

Minnesota +4 over NEW ORLEANS

New Orleans played Detriot last night. Then fly home to face the Wolves. THey should be tired and blow the cover in the fourth.

DENVER +4 over Phoenix

Taking the home dog here. Juwan Howard is back for the Nuggets and provides low post scoring and rebounds. Posey is having a great albeit quiet year. On paper Suns have more talents but many young players making first trip to Denver. Will they be ready for the mile high?

GOLDEN STATE +7 over Sacramento

Another home dog. Kings are a different team on the road esp with Clark hurt and Pollard out. Warriors loaded with guys that can rebound, Fortson, Foyle, Dampier, Jamison. Areanas and Richardson are no slouches in the backcourt. Dunleavy and Murphy are tall white guys that can shoot. Look for more FT misses from Webber to help the cover.

Best Bet: Philly
