Yesterday's Recap:

Kings under 208 W
Kingers under 210.5 W
Mavs under 212 L
Kings -5.5 2nd half W
Lakers under 99 2nd half

3-2 overall on plays yesterday

YTD: 85-53-2

Lean to Portland -1 against the Sonics tonight.

Portland has been playing very good ball of late. The Sonics are a flakey team and you never quite know what you're going to get with them. They beat the almost unbeatable Kings in Sacramento a few days back and then win against the struggling Suns pretty easily. Tonight should be a letdown game at home. The Sonics are on a back to back here and Portland is coming off of 1 day's rest. Portland, when rested is 5-1 ATS when playing against a team that is on 0 days rest. Portland has won the 1st two matchups this season, including the last one in Seattle. I think Portland is clicking right now and should win this one pretty easily. I see Rasheed Wallace having a big game and Seattle struggling in the 2nd half. This is the same Seattle team that lost SU at home against the Bulls. Also lean to over, but think that the 1st half over might be a good bet. Seattle can come out flat in the 2nd half and really throw up bricks, especially if Payton is off.

I can't get a line at my book. Overnights are down and daily lines are not up yet. Will post the actual play if I can get it at -1.

Hate to disagree with you but Seattle is 8-6 on zero days rest and it is hard to beat a team 3 straight times in one season, if any team is flaky it is Portland in my opinion and this same Portland team only beat the BUlls by 5 at Portland and they are 1-5 straight up in the second of two consecutive away games. I am going to wait till the line goes up some more and play the ML. I do not wish you any bad luck as this is the NBA and anything can happen but that is my 2 cents on the game.

RobertB-

All comments welcome my man. I appreciate the feedback I get whether it is pro or con. Portland has it's problems I agree and can be a screwy team. I just like them in this spot. Good luck.

I am leaning towards Portland also.

Also leaning towards Detroit. I think Ben Wallace may have a good time against Washington on the boards.

Washington w/o Jordan is not the same team on the floor.
Also favour the Under.

Comments ?

Spock,

I think Detroit is a pretty good play. Depending on how close the game is at the half, the Pistons could be a strong 2nd half bet. They tend to clamp down on defense in the 2nd half.

Right now, I think the under is the smart bet at 178. I'm having a few reservations with playing it though. I thought that the total would be dropping at my book but it hasn't so far. If it does, I might be inclined to go over 174 or 175, but I can't see it dropping that much.

Adding

Adding

Warriors/Sixers 1st half UNDER 97.5 (1 unit play)

This is an inflated 1st half line for the Sixers. I know that the Warriors were involved in an extremely high scoring game yesterday with the Nets and Philly scored well over 100 against Denver the other night. This one will be a lower scoring affair. To go over the 1st half, both teams will score 49. I can see Philly coming close to this number in the half, but not G. State. They will struggle offensively.

Over the last 5, G. State is averaging a shade over 46 points point in the 1st half and Philly is averaging about 48 points in the 1st half over the last five. Philly is a very good defensive team as well only giving up around 42 pts. in the 1st half. (G. State is another story giving up about 56 per half!). I can see Philly scoring a little more in this one, but not G. State.

Good luck

Yep

Yep

I do no all.

Took it under 194.

Also like the over in Miami @ 179.5, and everyone else seems to be going under.
I'll trust my own numbers and hope the line falls for me. ;)

Good luck all.

no all-

Lots of stats point to an over here. 13 of Portland's last 15 have gone over.

Last 5 games

Seattle average ppg 104, allowing 98

Portland average ppg 102, allowing 101

On no rest, Seattle averaging 97ppg, allowing 98

On 1 day of rest, Portland averaging 100ppg, allowing 91

On the other hand, Portland is a better home over and Seattle is a better road over. I might play the 1st half over and then see what it looks like at half time. Seattle gets tired and averages about 4 points less in the 2nd half (50 1st half, 46 2nd half). Might set up an under play in the 2nd half.

Adding in Sixers -5 first half-Looking for the Warriors to come out a bit sluggish here. Really thinking that they struggle offensively in the 1st half and Philly gets out of the gate quickly. Also adding in Portland/Sonics 1st half OVER 97. Playing everything for 1 unit so far except for Portland .5 units and Portland 1st half over 1.5 units
