Wednesday, June 5th - NJ Nets vs. LA Lakers Game 1
At first glance you immediately think the Lakers will clean things up in 4 or 5 games, which I totally agree with! But beware before you start investing in the purple and gold in this series. The Nets are a strong 8-2 ATS over their last 10 games, while LA has struggled to cash in with a 4-6 ATS record over their last 10 games. Tonight things may turn around as the Laker's fans love the numbers they see when facing the Nets. LA won both meetings ATS this season against NJ, and the Nets are a horrid 2-8 ATS over the last 10 matchups with the Lakers.
I think tonight LA will try to send a statement to the Nets in this game one, that they are the two time defending Champs! I do not see NJ winning 2 games in this series straight up, as Shaq will be entirely too much beef inside for MacCulloch to even think about containing. Along with this statement tonight will come 100 points plus from the Lakers, which they have posted 3 times in their last 4 contest in which all 3 games went over when doing so.
With the Laker's woes to cover the spread recently, I'm a little gun shy to pull the trigger on them -8 in game one. Instead, I'm going to go with the OVER in this one!
