12-13 overall, one for tonight:
n. arizona -7: more points than i like to lay, but i'm really feeling the lumberjacks here. these two schools resumed an old series last year with pepperdine taking a 101-86 win in malibu. however, that waves team is gone; in its' place is a group that sports seven, that's right seven freshmen and returns only three players that saw action last year, and one of those for only five games. none of the waves, including the coach, have ever played in flagstaff; that does not bode well when such a raw group travels to a problematic venue. getting there is always difficult at best, but more so for the young waves, who play an uptempo style in a groovy setting down by the sea in chic malibu. trouble is, the 'jacks court is up in the mountains, at 7000 feet i think it's the highest venue in the ncaa. as you would guess, pepperdines' young pups are picked to finish towards the bottom of the wcc, whike n arizona returns a seasoned upper echelon big sky team that has already played arizona within seven points on their home court. add it all up, you get a green waves team playing 7000 feet about their campus setting after a long road trip with a team laden with rookies sucking air while trying to run the court. that's loophole's recipe for a dd lumberjack win.
