Winthrop +13 (-125) pinny Win
North Carolina has had a history of struggling in these early season games. Only beat Sacred Heart (that is not half as good as Winthrop I might add) by 22 with a 2nd half push. Much like Butler last night, I really like the back court match-up of Jenkins & Martin.. I know Hansbrough is a monster, but this Tar heels team lacks Senior leadership. The Eagles return 4 starters from last years team who lost in the 2nd round of the NCAA tourney by a bucket in the closing seconds to Tenn. These guys have more experience playing with each other and should be able to make this a competitive contest.
Do doubt the talent level isn't close as North Carolina gets all the recruits, but this is a big number to lay this early in the season against a quality team.. I think the Eagles will draw off of their NCAA tourney experience and stay within this number.
