Robert,I consistently enjoy your writeups and respect your handicapping abilities. But what are we to like about Ryan Rupe?? His 6.86 era? Nearly double Seles. His 0-2 8.44 numbers against Seattle this season?? His 0-4 career record against Seattle? Conversely Sele is 6-0 lifetime against Tampa! Or the fact that he is 0-2 9.17 over his last 3?? Before last night Tampa 3-7 last 10, Seattle 7-3. Or finally there stellar 20 wins away from beautiful Tampa. Now I got beat terribly by the Tampa bunch last evening as they cost me a 2 teamer, as well as a nice 5 teamer that would have paid nicely, truthfully I wish Cameron didn't hit that 8th inning homer and let us all lose early without getting our chains pulled. On the other hand that's what bases offers us, opportunity yet how quickly the tide can turn. That being said I will be anteing up and pounding the shi* out of Sele & Seattle tonight. Not because I'm chasing, but because they are simply a much much better play. Come to think of it let me twist up Oakland & Seattle.
Best of luck, you are doing a nice job!

One thing to like about Ryan Rupe is that he is getting a run and he is getting odds. Of course Seattle will win this game more times than not, but will they win this game by 2 runs more times than they will win by 1 or lose outright? GL tonight!

obviously 1.5 runs is a Asset! However how much of a asset? Rupe' s era this season is nearly 7, his era in his 2 losses to Seattle this season is 8.44. And finally his era over his last 3 starts is over 9!! While Sele' s is 1.17! So how much is that run worth??

One thing I think you are overlooking is the fact that this is September Seattle has locked up the division and may not be as hungry. Seattle is 3-7 in Sele's last 10 starts and Rupe only lost 4-0 in his last start against the Mariners and I really think that you have to cap games in September much differently Tampa finished last year 8-2 in their last 10 games 6 of those were as a +150 to +185 dog they are doing the exact same thing this year. I truly understand your frustration at losing on Seattle last night but September is different than the rest of the season. Sele is 6-0 against the Rays but only one of those games was in September and he only won by one run and he has given up 4 earned runs in each of his last 4 starts against them so I will take the 1.5 runs at plus odds on a team that is playing their hearts out against a team that is just wanting to get ready for the post season.

Pay no attention to the stat about Rupe's last three starts. That stat is meaningless. His last one start was a good outing against these same Mariners. The other two were weeks ago. They mean nothing. I like the +1.5 play. Good luck.
