Early Games

Early Games

Is it me or is the whole world on Colon and the white sox today? The question I have is why? I am a strong believer a team is driven by it?s hitting not it?s pitching and that is why Randy Johnson lost his first game of the season, you can?t win if you don?t score. I can?t argue with the fact that strong pitching is important, but with the exception of Colon?s flawless record in day games (9-0 in 10 starts LY) I don?t seem him pitching well today. The Royals have had a history of hitting him well from his days in Cleveland and his career record his 7-5 and his ERAA is over 5 clearly not dominant numbers. Then of course comes his performance in the spring. Colon pitched 21 innings and gave up 23 hits and 17 runs, but the most glaring stat was that he gave up five home runs. He only started five games so is averaging one home run a game, giving up at least one hit per inning and is going against a team that can hit him well. Now Affeldt is not the next coming of the big unit, but he is a promising southpaw who was almost the opening day starter for this club and if not for a blister problem last year he would have had a much better season. He pitched decent in the spring going 3-1, pitching 24 innings and giving up 12 runs. The white sox had problems getting hits in the first game as they just had one extra base hit and waited until the seventh inning to get more than one runner on base.

KC +160

I am also going to go with the under in today?s game mainly because there is a chance that Colon can pitch a decent game with his past record in day games and I think it may be just one pitch that will cost him this game. Sweeny had a nice first day in the ballpark with a double, walk, and a towering fly out and he could touch up Colon today. Affeldt pitched against the white sox and although he lost he pitched seven strong in a 4-0 loss.

Under 9.5 +100

Not touching this game but for those who want to brush up on thier umpire data, Eddings is behind the plate for thie game and he is a classic Under Umpire and he has a wide strike zone. may want to check it out.

I'm a die hard pale hose fan, but...

I like your reasoning as I have seen Colon pitch very well and have one inning, one ab, one pitch cost him. It also does seem that everyone is on the Sox today. My heart says they'll put up ten today with the wind blowing out, but my money won't touch it. Good Luck Scoop.

What do you think about Atlanta RL? RAMIREZ has been amazing during Spring and Atlanta should show some signs of life.

Looking to add to the 2-0 start :D

Getting these out quick and if you have any questions just send them along.. :)

Atlanta -1.5 +130 (E.H, I agree 100%)

Milwaukee +175

Indians +113 Best Bet

Seattle +135

Dodgers -120

NYY / Tor Under 9 -115

Also like the fish as wolf was horrible in the spring and is always slow early, TB looks good as Lowe had a bad spring and the bullpen is in shambles but the rays might have the same problem. The mets look great at -125 but the cubbies had some hot sticks in the first game. Chalk out there that looked good was with the yankees and the twins but letting them go.

drop a little early info:

under 9 Tor/NYY

The yankees are hitting the ball well but not tonight, hendrickson has looked good all spring, with just 2 runs in 17 innings pitched. Mussina also had a great spring with a K/BB ratio of 21/4 so the Jays will have trouble scoring runs. Look behind the plate for this one Bill Miller is a true under ump!

Thanks . . .

Thanks . . .

I followed your play on KC. I didn't get the extra 1/2 point on the total, so I couldn't pull the trigger - Thanks for the winner. Sorry the later games didn't turn out as well as the first two. I'll be following you throughout the year - keep up the good work.
